  1. No. If a school/school district does not allow the do over program, the student has the “right” to re do the school year at a school/school district that does allow it, but, there is no right for that student to play varsity sports at the new school (assuming he/she played varsity sports at the old school) UNLESS the student qualifies for a standard KHSAA transfer exception.
  2. The Dragons seem to be slipping further from the 8th Region top tier this season.
  3. “Another” down year??? I wish my school had such down years. 2016- Sweet 16, 2017- Region semis, 2018- Sweet 16, 2019- State champs, 2020- Region quarters.
  4. I expect all tickets will be sold virtually and centrally through Ticketmaster. I doubt very seriously if participating schools will sell paper tickets. I believe the Ticketmaster computer software will be able to assign seats with the proper social distance protocols in place and within whatever Max fan limits that are in place by the KHSAA. Look for info beginning on Friday or over the weekend and after Thursday’s BOC meeting.
  5. Go to the Twitter account for each school and you should find your answer.
  6. The Dragons can name this score. Running clock for sure.
  7. Fern Creek is peaking at the exact right time. Their round 2 matchup with Covington Catholic should be a good one.
  8. Male has the entire “portfolio”. A Senior PG in Evans who is very effective in running the show and setting tempo. Two high volume scorers in Moore and Fleming who can get it rolling in bunches. A big time athlete in Glenn who can score, defend and board. And 3 or 4 others who are simply really good complimentary pieces in Pope, Priest, etc
  9. Two former Happy Osborne Georgetown Assistants going at it. Jason for Ashland and KC for Butler. Both guys very good coaches.
  10. Until strength of schedule and out of state opponents actual records are integrated, these relative comparisons are silly. Ohio County at #5 while Fern Creek #80, Ballard #82 and Covington Catholic #95. “Come on Man”.
  11. RPI in KHSAA Basketball might be interesting to some but is not important. Has zero influence on District, Region or State.
  12. Thanks Hardin County Preps. Looks to be a close game. Could turnover margin be the ultimate difference on Friday?
  13. Not too familiar with their schedules....what is considered the best win or two for each team so far this season?
  14. Congratulations to the Colonels. They had the best combination of skill, talent and depth I saw all year. They earned this state championship trophy.
  15. By NFHS rules, slapping the backboard may be whistled for a technical foul if in the judgement of the official it is done in a purposeful way to shake the basket, effect the rim, etc.,. Slapping the backboard is not in and of itself a goaltending call or a basket interference call.
  16. The Purples are seeing the “other side of the coin” this season. They have lost twice as many games in last two weeks as they did all of last season.
  17. Coach Goodin doing a masterful job at Louisville Butler. The dude can coach. They might be top 5 at this point. Lexington Catholic and Bryan Station too high. Doss is too low. Where is Lexington Christian? They are clearly top 20.
  18. A catch should be ruled a catch if the player clearly has possession and control of the ball when his feet, (2) in the NFL and (1) in college and high school, make contact with the ground. The ground should not be allowed to cause a fumble, or an incomplete pass. If his feet or his body make contact with the ground, or when the ball crosses the plane of the goal line, and he has control of the ball at that point, then it is a catch, even if the ball comes loose once his hands and arms hit the ground.
  19. Two horse race- Cov Cath and Cooper. No one else close.
