Manual (5-1) will host St. X (3-3) and is coming off an open week. St. X is coming off a 14-3 loss to Boyle County. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

Last year Manual won 29-22.

Manual has a potent rushing attack that averages 240 yards per game and is led by RB Gerian Traynor who has 531 yds and 7 touchdowns. The defense has played well giving up 16.6 pts a game. 

St. X was without QB Mason Trimble in the Boyle County game and his status for this game is unknown at this time. QB Will Burmester came in the 4th quarter against Boyle County and was 6-8 and threw for 93 yards and if Trimble can't go, I would expect him to be the QB this week. The St. X defense has played well giving up 16.5 pts a game.

Manual has won 2 years in a row which is a big reason ST. X has lost in the second round of the playoffs the last two years getting beat by #1 district seeds Male and Ryle, so this is a very important district game but strangely all the teams in District 4 who District 3 is paired with this year are down. This game is also very important for RPI position for the 3rd and 4th round of the playoffs. I know St. X will be motivated since Manual has won the last two years plus having a three-game losing streak. Manual will be fresh coming off an open week and will be well prepared. HSRatings.com has the two teams essentially even. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Manual turf and new video scoreboard. Who wins this long rivalry that dates back to 1923?

I believe Manual and St. Xavier have played over 100 games by now.

I would think so because some years have played twice.

I have a feeling the Manual D will thwart the Tigers and the Manual O will run for 150 yards plus as the Crimson send X to a 4th consecutive loss.

St. X has a 2 pt loss to Elder the #1 team in Ohio.

11 pt loss to #1 team in KY Trinity

11 pt loss to #1 team in 4A Boyle County without starting QB.

I don't think Manual is as good as those teams so If St. X loses it should be in single digits. I think key for St. X is to not turn the ball over which has hurt them in all their losses. If no turnovers or Manual turns the ball over then St. X can win.

Yeah I’m not buying a three TD Manual win…

Manuals run D is very good. Think X will have to be able to throw to win. Manual defensive front 7 is just tough to run against. Like Manual to edge X by a score.

Until the Tigers learn how to run the football at least a little bit, they will have a hard time beating any quality team. I don’t care who the quarterback is.

The Tigers defense is probably 2nd best in KY to ours. Their front 7 is exceptional, especially Busch, Bentz and Pinkston. Korey Tutt has really come on also and Harbin is pretty decent at corner. They were very difficult to run block. The big questions are if Manual can throw the ball when they absolutely have to and can X win with a hobbled Trimble or a backup.
