2010 Louisville Central is in this discussion I think...3k from Ace Wales and only losses were to 6A schools... I ferel bad for CAL though...Most are going to say "what if" and mention all the hypotheticals when they talk about this team...

This is correct for Javon Ringer. I believe our Steve Orndorff also ran one back in that game? I don't believe we played Cincy X when Boiman was there. @thsrocks can you confirm?

Javon Ringer is the RB from Chaminade-Julienne...I thought we locked down pretty much everyone from Imhotep and Champagnat but yeah they had some decent players...Lorenzen is a bad miss by me...When did we play Boiman @TSR83 ??

Working on a list of the best players Trinity has ever played against and adding DGG/Croucher and probably Adams to that list (if Croucher is healthy anyway) Luke Kuechley, Shaun Alexander, Jalen Ramsey, Michael Bush, Eric Shelton are probably Top 5. Others would be: DeVante Parker, Montrell Jones, David Bell, Chris Graham, Javon Ringer, Chris Redman, Tony Driver, Bernard Jackson, Taywan Taylor, and I'm sure several others. I know Shelton was #1 RB in the country and I think Alexander was close (for whatever they had in 1994) Ramsey was a 5* as well.

1997 T-X Finals was the foil to 2002 T-Male. Certainly the best defense X has ever had and the Trinity defense was stacked too. Lots of storylines with injured QBs, all-star players like Mattingly, the Jacksons, Wajda, McElroy, Hennessey, etc. and of course the first time these two ever played in a championship. Boscher hits a long FG in freezing temperatures and that was it. One of the greatest games I've ever seen at any level.

CBC played a 4 team scrimmage with some other schools in the preseason and showed several different looks. They appear to be playing two quarterbacks in SR Franklin McGinty and JR Daylan Austin-Harvey. They run an RPO spread concept that looks to exploit soft coverage and overactive blitzes. In my opinion Austin-Harvey was the better of the two QBs and probably who will start. He is a fast, shifty runner and can get up field quickly when in the open field. He throws a decent ball over the middle and has two legit playmakers in WRs Kingston McPike (transfer last year, did not play) and Arness Webb. Webb had 7 catches for 130 yards last year and is the only receiver with substantial playing time. RB Caden Shea returns (29/360/12.4/7 td) and appears to start replacing the outstanding Vic Williams who anchored a running attack that went for over 3000 yards last year. The offensive line is all replaced as well and sports two massive tackles in 6'6 315 junior Elijah Carpenter and 6'5 280 junior Hayden Clark. They appear a little slow and not fundamentally polished so hopefully DLs Sebastian Blue and Juleone Carney can make some headway and force some pressure like in the Anderson game. Defensively, they employ a 3-4 box with very active SAM and WILL linebackers. LB Cole Rivers returns but I did not see him in the scrimmage, as is the case with LB Gabe Wilson. They combined for 94 tackles and 3 sacks and are excellent fundamentally. DL Que Porter played several snaps in the scrimmage and saw limited action last year. Marcus Aljaghbir and Trent Wills also started in the scrimmage but rotated heavily throughout the day, as it appears head coach Scott Pingel is still looking for something on defense. DBs Joshua Beasley, JaKah Cooper, Milton Proctor III and Kameron Terrell received the most time on field and did a decent job in coverage, but appear inexperienced and gave up a few long plays. Kicker Max Daus graduated from last year's team and it is unclear who will handle punting and kicks. Long snapper Drake Clifton is pledged to Kansas and was the lone D-1 commit I was able to uncover. It appears McPike, Beasley and Proctor all have offers. The toughest news for the Cadets is the absence of WR/DB/P/K Corde Gage who it appears left the team to focus on baseball. He was the team's leading scorer with 11 TDs, 7 FGs and 76 XPs. All in all the Trinity experience factor will no doubt give them an advantage, but the long bus ride could be difficult to overcome. I have no doubt that Coach Cobb has prepared for this and hopefully can help mitigate that factor. After watching the Springfield scrimmage and the Anderson game, I feel the Rocks are climbing towards their full potential. Zane Johnson looks as good as I've ever seen him and he is making great decisions out there. The secondary had Owen Scalf and the Raptors completely confused and nowhere to go. The offensive line was terrific given the amount of varsity snaps they had coming in and that is very encouraging. I look for the zone blitzing and stout front line of the Green and White to be a major problem for the Cadets on Friday and the multiple weapons on offense with Berry, Taylor and the receiving corps to have another huge game. This is the worst St. X team of my lifetime. It is hard to believe a program that produced Charisika, Bernard, Deuce, Vic and Lyons has fallen this far. And then you have Glaser piling on his own program...No words...

Had a chance to go to practice yesterday and can say for a fact the defense is preparing for a major, major test from the Anderson Offense. Watching film on them, they are a no-huddle, Air Raid spread that looks to get the ball out quick and they emphasize the screens and quick hitches and dig routes. The QB completed over 72% of his passes last year for almost 5,000 yards. They have 3 returning receivers with over 900 yards and 75 or more receptions EACH. The RB also returns with 76 catches for 743 yards and a combined 25 TDs. This very well could be the best offense Trinity faces all year. Defensively, UK commit LB Antwoine Higgins and Notre Dame commit CB Ace Alston lead a stout attack that largely plays an aggressive 3-4 Cover 3 with Higgins being one of the top returning tacklers. They did lose their top 3 in that department, but they return a lot of experience on the line and in the secondary and also bring back 12 of their 15 total interceptions from last year. I'm not sure they saw a receiving corps this talented but Alston is the real deal and can shut down a receiver completely so I think Zane et al will need to mark him all game long. WR/DB Tysin Weaver also is impressive on both sides of the ball and this group is extremely well coached. I do not expect much of a let down in tempo or scheme with Raptors HC Evan Dreyer suspended for this game, but in a close matchup Jay Cobb's experience in big games may prove the difference. I like Trinity in this game if the offensive line can hold up and if we get to their QB on defense. I do not remember seeing many teams try to press QB Owen Scalf up front, and with all the zone blitzing and simulated pressure DC Michael Fox likes to bring it could force Anderson into the mistakes our defense loves to take advantage of. It's almost time!! ☘️
