He has a chance to be one of the only freshman in the country starting next year in college football. What he has done over 4 years, with the consistency of play, has never been done in KY football history...EVER. And it may never be done again.

Zane is on pace to be all time passing leader in every category at Trinity. Zane has the opportunity to be the only QB in KHSAA history to win 4 state Titles as the starter. Zane has opportunity to break state record for consecutive games with a TD pass. Already has Trinity Record. Zane has competed against 21 D1 defenders this season, several other candidates, have faced ZERO. Heaviest concentration of any year that I can remember of top level contenders, but he is my vote.

Brian also played in an offense that threw the ball 150 more attempts a year. Their yards per completion are identical.

Trinity looks in mid-season form. JB is running violently at RB. Evan Smith, I said in spring he was going to be the breakout player. 6'3 and can move! Offensive line played great, which is encouraging due to the inexperienced. Freahman Mark Stivers got significant time at guard and tackle. WR core handled business. Zane threw for 275 and 5 TDs. Defensively, they looked solid across the board. Gio at nose is a load, will make a name this year. Luke Vise at MLB looks like a grown man and has sideline to sideline speed. Cooper Burrice is my breakout player for the defense at OLB. Secondary gave up a couple hailmary jump balls, but they will be fine! Kicking game is elite. I like the Rocks chances in every game!

For whatever reason you take every chance you get to point out you don't think Zane is elite. An opinion is just that but you offer reasoning that is unfounded. I never undervalued Travis on anything. I simply provided a rebuttal to your assertion that Zane was nowhere near Travis, with stats as your reasoning. You think it is not an advantage to have P4 WR and P4 RB and one of the greatest offensive minds in KY HS football history? I respect that you like your QB, you saw his daily grind and should be a fan. But you trying to discredit Zane like he is average is comical.

Junior season Travis Wright 70%, 3036 yds, 39 TDs 3 Ints Zane Johnson 69% 2925 yds, 53 TDs 3 int Travis had a Power 4 rb with 2k yards and one of the best wrs in khsaa history, James Quick who had half the total offensive pass production. Zane hasn't thrown 1 TD to D1 WR, hasn't handed the ball to 1 D1 rb. Both should change this year. Travis was a great QB, but to discredit Zane by suggesting stats, you are far from accurate. Zane quite possibly will break career TD record, career passing record, career wins record, become the only QB in state history to win 4 state championships, all while having the least amount of D1 talent. I will take Zane over them all if they handle business this year.

Trinity is trying to increase National presence, CAL does nothing to assist in that. Trinity beats CAL by 2+ TDs 10 out of 10 times. CAL is great at what they do, but not on same level.
