  1. What class are they? They seemed to have handled Lexington Catholic easier than Louisville X?
  2. I think Cooper is another 6A flying under the radar.
  3. Congrats to CAL. Ledfors and his stafff must be really strong.
  4. How are the 6A Eagles losing to the smaller class schools? I thought Eastern was turning the corner?
  5. Shelby County is back!!! Collins stole their thunder for a couple of years, but I like these Rockets.
  6. I submit that Scott County might be flying "under the radar" a bit in 6A this season. Who will emerge from the pack of SK, Lafayette, McCracken, Scott County, Central Hardin, Ryle to challenge the Louisville schools?
  7. The Tigers have three consecutive weeks of competition vs smaller class schools. Could they end that stretch with a losing record?
  8. Scott County seems to be a "dark horse" Nobody is talking about them this year. can they surprise the state?
  9. CAL should have a big crowd for this one. I hear SK travels well also. A win here puts CAL even more on the map. A loss for SK removes them completly from any 6A championship talk
  10. Not so fast, I heard their receivers dropped at least 10 balls last week vs Trinity, including two that would have been TDs
  11. Male and Trinity defeated Lafayette last year by a combined score of 111 - 28. Each game was a total blow out. Can Lafayette be expected to realistically make up that much ground in one year and beat Male, Trinity or for that matter St. X?
  12. Forget top 3- This is a two man race between Williams and Goodin. I say Carson Williams.
  13. Does this Cov Cath group have the same hunger that the last couple of their teams have shown? I have watched them a couple of times this year and they seem a bit casual about things.
  14. I can tell you that none of the big dogs in the 11th (SC, HC, Dunbar) want any part of Madison Central at region time.
  15. Coach Brewer knows how to bring a squad along and get them playing well at the end of the season Look at his track record.
  16. I would say more "balanced" than "brutal". For the last 5 or 6 years this region has had either a really good Ballard team or a really good Trinity team. This year no such thing. However, there are 8 solid teams that on any given night any of them could beat any of the others.
  17. Yes, Mercer County COULD win state. And, I would also include these teams as "contenders" that COULD win state: Cov Cath, Ballard, Trinity, Dunbar, Bullitt East, Scott County, Male, Fern Creek and Cooper. A lot of parity at the top. No stand out team this year in my mind. I would include these teams as "spoilers", strong enough to beat anyone on a given night and maybe win one more, but I do not see them capable of stringing together a number of good games in a row agaisnt the better teams: Hoptown, Bowling Green, Doss, Lex Cath, Central, Henry Clay, Owen County, Madison Central, St X and Taylor County.
  18. The Bruins and the Shamrocks have owend this region over the last few years.
  19. Mercer County and Male too low. Lafayette and NCC too high.
  20. I am curious to see how FC, Doss and PRP hold up in the LIT next week. On a given night they can compete with anyone, but, can they string 3 or 4 good games together within a four or five day stretch against good teams. I think BE can do that.
  21. I was able to watch Owen County a couple of times at the KOB. With Carson Williams, their starting 5 can compete with any team in the state. Once they go to their bench it looked like they were inserting JV level guys. Their bench was woefully overmatched at the KOB. Given that thier big man gets very winded after 3 or 4 minutes, and given that the better teams in the state can go 7 or 8 deep with only minimal drop off, the lack of even one pretty good sub is going to be a real issue for Owen County if they even get to Rupp.
  22. Congrats to the Colonels. They "earned" this state championship with a number of very strong performances in the post season.
  23. The KHSAA rules prohibit moves for "Athletic Purposes"...... Hmm, how come 7 foot centers never transfer to Western Hills, or, Madison Southern, or, Atherton, or, name one of 200 other KY high schools not named Scott County?????
