Conner travels to Union to take on the Raiders this Friday, 8/29 at 7pm.  They are coming off of a tough loss to Madison Central 43-0, in Noel Rash's 1st game as the Cougar head coach.  Turnovers and ball control seemed to be a big concern for them against the Indians, will they be able to correct that before they face a tough Raider's defense?

Ryle took down Covington Catholic 26-20 at Wooten Field, in a game that Ryle controlled on the ground.  Health and conditioning appear to be the biggest hurdle for the Raiders at the moment.  Their 3 speared running attack could be a problem for the Cougars, opening up their passing game for Verax and Company.  

Looks to be a nice Friday night for football, with temps in the low 70s/high 60s and no rain come game start.

I agree but no matter what Ryle decides to do it will be a quick running clock.

Tough loss for Ryle I seen their really good Dlineman is out at least 4 weeks thumb surgery. Prayers to him.

Will Conner be able to take away anything positive from this game that they can carry over into week 3? I think it could be one where they take the film and throw it in the trash and move on. Right now it seems that they will be looking at around a -90 point differential for the year when week 3 comes. Rash has never been on that end of the script before. They will get better but no way Rash is comfortable with that and he doesn't seem like a guy that wants to start coming up with some type of moral victories. 

Friday is also Senior Night for the Raiders, so one more reason it might be tough for Conner to walk out victorious.

This is the first time I remember Senior Night at the first home game rather than the last. Boone is doing the same thing. I can see advantages of holding Senior Night early in the season.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind it, but like you said I can also see the advantages behind it.  Placing your Senior Night in the beginning of the year gets the normal festivities out of the way up front instead of when you're in the crunch time of the season.  I guess I'm just used to having the "potential" last ever home game for the Seniors being Senior Night.
