This Friday, October 10th the Scott County Cardinals will head to Crestwood to play South Oldham.

Scott County thumped Anderson County last Friday by the score of 49-0. They got to a running clock midway through the second quarter. On the other hand, South Oldham struggled to put away Anderson County, as that game never reached a running clock and two late scores made the final 27-0 look better than it actually was.

Scott County handled the Dragons 28-7 last year, and 43-14 in their first meeting after joining a district together. This is a must win game for both teams when it comes to the district. While winning the district is pretty much out of reach for the Dragons, a win here would keep them above Collins which would help them avoid Cooper for at least a round.

While Scott County likely wouldn’t see Cooper in round two regardless, winning this game would set them up for a matchup next week @ Woodford County that would decide who gets home field through at least two rounds come November.

Drives will be limited in this game as both teams want to run the ball. This game may be low scoring as a result. Will the Cards push to 7-1 and gear up for a top 10 matchup vs Woodford next week, or will South Oldham spoil their hopes and bounce back?

Running Clock for the Cardinals.

South Oldham matches up better with Scott County than Woodford. This game will be closer than expected in my opinion.

Scott County 34

South Oldham 14

For several years I have said the Dragons are a solid program but never a team able to win “big” games. I don’t think that narrative changes this week. Give me Scott County.

Scott County has held the ball maybe two minutes of the entire game? Defense is already banged up as is, offense needs to have a long drive here.

South Oldham kick return touchdown.

There was a bust on that play I assume as the ball was kicked short and directly to a player. The kickoff team for Scott County didn’t seem to notice where the ball had gone until he was already past them.

Our QB has dropped the ball for no reason while under zero pressure twice tonight. He has recovered both at least.
