This Friday night under the lights at Lexington Christian Academy, the Eagles (3-3) host the Shawnee Golden Eagles (3-3) in a Class 2A District 4 matchup kicking off at 7:30 PM ET. Both teams enter with identical records, but LCA has faced a much tougher slate so far, including narrow losses to powerhouses like Boyle County (28-21) and Franklin County (28-27), plus a statement win over rival Lexington Catholic (28-21).

Their most recent outing was a dominant 42-13 victory over W.E.B. DuBois Academy on Oct. 3.

Shawnee, meanwhile, has shown flashes with wins over Iroquois (30-6), Western (28-18), and Fort Knox (48-6), but they've struggled against stronger competition, dropping games to Thomas Nelson (14-8), Central (49-0), and district foe Danville (41-0) on Sept. 26.

This is Shawnee's first district road test, and they'll need to shore up their defense after allowing 41+ points in two of their losses.

Who's got this one?

A long night for Shawnee. First a 1.5 hour bus ride to and from LCA. Second a ?‍♂️⏰early and often.
