? Ravens Come Rapping, Rapping At The Stable Door

Another clue to the season's greatest mystery will reveal itself this week.

Atherton has assembled a roster built for late November, perhaps even early December. They look the part, in particular the defense, a unit that's pitched seven shutouts.

But the schedule has produced one opponent with a winning record, resulting in a commendable loss to Manual. Their eight wins have come at the expense of opponents with a combined mark of 16-56. Woof.

The Ravens fly east for the regular season finale, in search of fine tuning before the playoffs.

In Goshen lies answers to questions not yet asked and a North Oldham offense waiting to unleash all manner of Halloween horrors.

The Mustangs own the state's #4 scoring offense, a dizzying aerial circus for which Colin Daniels serves as ringmaster. The Mr. Football hopeful boasts a state best 37 touchdown passes against two interceptions.

His right arm, limber, poses a query, to cast the birds to the midnight dreary.

Visitors seeking and destroying, with their prey always toying, rapping at the stable door, quoth the Ravens, nevermore….

First team to 7 wins?

A Train! Give me the boys by 28.

North's schedule isn't much tougher than Atherton, but their one loss was a rivalry game on the road. A Train derails here, to the tune of 35-28.

Congratulations to Coach Anthony White on becoming Atherton's all-time winningest coach last week.

The polls for this game are really interesting!

Does anyone know if this game will be streamed?

I haven't found anything yet. I was hoping Glicod would pick this one up, because they do some North Oldham home games, but they're not covering this game.

Answering the poll question I am going out on a limb here. I say there is a 100% chance North Oldham scores 21 or more points.

For those who think that is silly talk, consider this. All of Atherton's opponents excepting Manual have played a total of 68 games against other teams this year. In 28 of those games Atherton's opponents have scored 1 TD or less. In 12 games they were shutouts. Is it great defense or a weak schedule? I say a mix of both. Atherton has a good defense but not as good as it looks by game scores.

I agree that in this game we finally get some understanding of who Atherton is.
