Good to see North Laurel in the rankings. They opened a lot of eyes with their play against Pulaski County.

Don't understand how Anderson Co. is #4 last week and fall out of the top 10 this week. Warren Central loses and stays #3. Bullitt Central is undefeated.

Like PP92 wondering where Grayson Co. is.

I'm thinking everyone is skeptical of Grayson County. I certainly feel they have an incredible shot of winning out. Unfortunately, with the juggernaut that is BG, they won't make it to WKU. But I do feel a solid argument can be made for them in the top 10, just looking at their schedule and the margins of victory.

Glad to see Franklin County back in the looks of things with the big win over Anderson Co!:thumb:

Warren Central lost to the #1 team in 5A...why should they fall in the rankings?

Their other two losses are to the #2 team in 4A and the previous #1 team in 2A.

They could potentially end up with 4 regular season losses with 3 of those losses coming to eventual state champions.

Is there a difference between the teams they lost to? Maybe losing to a team thought by many to be the best or at worst top 5 team in the state isn't quite the same as losing to a team that the previous week had won by a TD over a team that was 1-6 and two weeks prior had lost to a team that is 3-4. Just spitballing it there. I personally wouldn't rank Franklin County in the top 10 either.

Also seems like people were skeptical of Anderson County last week and they probably owed where they were to a simple attrition of teams ahead of them in the previous weeks.

After last weeks rankings, I typed up a small comment followed by my computer crashing before I got to submit it! It was in response to the skepticism that Pulaski was facing due to Hall's injury from here on out. I simply said for you all not sleep on Gregory as the back-up QB. Later on that Friday night, Gregory went out and had almost 500 (226 rush, 221 pass I believe it was) yards of total offense with 8 touchdowns (5 rush, 3 pass) on a career night. I understand that the South Laurel defense is less than stellar and those numbers will probably not be duplicated. However, I will say this again: DO NOT SLEEP ON GREGORY. He would start QB on 95% of any high school teams in the state, not named Pulaski with a Hall in attendance. There will not be THAT huge of a drop-off for the PC offense as many anticipate.

As I have seen others on here say, a loss is a loss. WC is a great team. They have 3 losses though.

By your reasoning Anderson Co. should still be in the top 10 in 5A as they have lost to 2 teams in the top 10 of 5A and a team in the top 10 of 4A.

I never understand how they do the rankings. 2 weeks ago Cooper was 5 and after a loss to another ranked team in a close one dropped out of the top 10 and then they have a bye and get back into the top 10 lol.

Can anyone (Dragonfire) tell me about the playoff picture in the west?

Region I is Bowling Green, then everyone else. Warren Central, Hopkinsville, and Graves County are in the next tier but I can't see any of them beating the Purples. Bowling Green would also host any game in the first three rounds.

Projected First Round:

[4] Apollo/Ohio County winner at [1] Bowling Green

[3] Greenwood at [2] Hopkinsville/Graves County loser

[4] Barren County at [1] Hopkinsville/Graves County winner

[3] Christian County at [2] Warren Central

Region II seems to be wide open. None of the top names are real proven powers, with the likes of Grayson County, Iroquois, and Bullitt Central dominating the region. Bullitt East will likely be a two seed but could be the region favorite. Long-time Bowling Green foe John Hardin has struggled all season and if the chips fall wrong this weekend could miss the playoffs entirely.

Projected First Round:

[4] John Hardin/Jeffersontown/North Hardin (may result in tiebreaker) at [1] Bullitt Central

[3] Shelby County at [2] Iroquois

[4] North Bullitt at [1] Grayson County

[3] John Hardin/Jeffersontown/North Hardin at [2] Bullitt East

*Region II, District 4 is much more convoluted at this point than the other districts

Also, the winner of Region I has to travel to Region II for the state semifinals, no matter who the participating teams are.

Iroquois has not yet clinched the #2 seed. Shelby County also is playing Bullitt East for the #2 seed next week.
