Bowling Green will win 5A again. If BG didn't win it would be the biggest upset of the playoffs this year.

I don't know the details, but the Bowling Green/Pulaski score last weekend was fairly close. If Southwestern can beat Pulaski again, could the Warriors challenge Bowling Green? I'm guessing no, but prepared to hear opinions.

It wasn't fairly close to those who watched it or where there is the feedback I got. Keep in mind their backup QB got hurt also.

Thanks PP. I haven't read anything about it. Southwestern seems to have flown under the radar a bit. I saw them scrimmage and they were okay, but they've clearly improved. I still don't know if they'd have enough to win at WKU against Bowling Green with it all on the line.

Maybe they have been lucky enough for they're district favorites to lose their best players.

I have to agree. Before Riley Hall got hurt Pulaski County was considered the second best team and expected to be at WKU against BG for the second year in a row. Without him and now the backup QB it's just not looking good for them.

I am enjoying seeing the success of Southwestern for sure... but I also go back to what Belfry did to them on their home field. The score was 28-7... and this phrase is way too overused... but it should have been a lot worse. Belfry had two TD's called back for personal foul penalties behind the play. Not only did those take two scores on the board but it created long yardage situations that ultimately led to punts. Belfry also took a knee inside the 10 yard line to end the game. Realistically Belfry should have won that game 42-7 or 49-7.

 

Maybe Southwestern has vastly improved since then... but what I took from that game was Southwestern simply was not very strong up front. No doubt Southwestern has proven themselves as a solid team... and it is plain to see that 5A is extremely weak this year..and outside of Bowling Green is IMHO unquestionably the weakest class in the State... but I simply can't see a team good enough to challenge Bowling Green on a turf field.

This was thought to be the year someone would knock off the Purples; I just don't see that happening. BG will run the table in the playoffs for their 4th straight championship.
