By a mile. The Purples were not as stout as the previous 3 years, but this one is a shock.

I told you all I had a funny feeling about this one when everyone was picking running clocks.

The Eagles have played great for the last 7-8 weeks. Ever since the McCracken upset win, they've been playing with a lot of confidence and swagger. I'm surprised they won, but, wasn't surprised it was a close game.. I thought the Eagles could hang with them, just expected the Purples depth would likely take over late and they'd pull it out..

Hey, I'll absolutely step up and admit I was wrong. I did not think Graves would win and did not think it would be close. I can't give impressions on the game having not seen it, but if you shut out Bowling Green, you've done something truly rare. First time they'd been shut out in five years and has only happened twice in the last 12 years. Incredible achievement and hats off to the Eagles. Last year they finally broke the glass ceiling to make a region final and this was a heck of an encore. It'll be interesting to see just how far they go.

 

Here's an eyepopping stat: Bowling Green had won 142 games in a row when holding teams below 7 points. The last time they lost one was a 7-0 loss to Warren Central in the 1993 region finals.
