Before one more person comes on here and mentions Campbell Gott by name how about we take into consideration he had his throwing hand split open by cleats in the first quarter and lost the starting rb in the 2nd quarter.

 

Had that happen before in practice. Had my hand swell up to the point I couldn't fit my fingers into a bowling ball.

 

Gott exceeded any and all expectations this year. NO ONE thought he'd play to the level he did this season.

Had my eye on this game all night on twitter. I brought it up on our radio show this afternoon about how this game just had an "odd" feeling to it. Never in a million years did I think Graves could pull off the shutout. Hats off to them in a major way.

 

As for Bowling Green. What a run. It will go down in Ky state history as one of the best. The Purples are simply a top notch program.

Week after week I kept wondering why the "voting members" kept the Eagles out of the BGP Top 10 of 5A. I guess they go from being unranked to #1. In Mayfield, you know a good team when u see it, and Graves put all the pieces together after that Mayfield game . Looking for a new Title Town in a couple of weeks

Stunned is an understatement. Never would have guessed this outcome. Not only the Graves win, but the shutout.....I'm speechless.

I know where Graves County is, but know nothing about their football program. Huge upset, huge congrats to the Eagles.

 

I'm guessing this opens things up considerably in 5A the next two weeks.

 

Congrats to Bowling Green on the run they had. This loss shows just how impressive the runs Trinity, Highlands, Beechwood, and Boyle had in the past really were.

 

Prior to reading this thread, I had no idea Graves County high was only 30ish years old; that it was a consolidation of six high schools; or that none of those six had football teams. Excellent stuff. :thumb: The kind of info I love getting on BGP.

That is exactly right, I put Graves in the top 5 most of the season but for some reason they couldn't make the top 10. Westsider was the man who knew his football and spoke up for WKY football when he thought a team was legit.

I guess this will put an end to the speculation by some, that BG is the best team in the state.

The speculation was done with over a month ago. I haven't heard anyone mention BG as the best team in the state since the Owensboro game if not before then.
