South Warren @ Adair County Predictions

Looks like its going to be a wet track in Columbia Friday night for the defacto District Championship game for 3A R1D2 (although Monroe still has shot if S.W. wins and they defeat S.W. next week).

 

Both teams come in undefeated, surprising considering South's graduation losses last season and the Indians lack of historical football credentials.

 

For me, the Indians chance of winning is keeping the impact of SW's depth at a minimum with their no huddle offense, maintaining sustained scoring drives, and limiting SW big plays.

 

The Indians are very young at their skill positions, however these kids have not learned how to lose. The cliche of waiting on a group to grow up is holding true as the Soph/Freshman group have had Columbia waiting since youth football days to see these boys suit up.

 

All that said, my take is:

Adair Co. 21

Obviously johny, you're not familiar with the term "skill positions". Been around the Adair program for a long time, so I am aware of the age of their linebackers. Hope you're right on your prediction!!!!!

My take is this Adair has definitely not faced a defense like south has this year. I don't know that smiths defense has faced an offense like adairs. I think it will be a good game but I think it's going to be South 24 Adair 7, if it rains like last week may be a little closer. Wish both teams luck and hope for a great game.

You are kidding right??? You guys are about to go against the #1 Defense in the STATE, and you think we are the ones that need to be worried??? I believe that should be the other way around... You guys are a running team, and we are GREAT at stopping the run. Your QB is a 6'4" TARGET who likes to run! Our guys are gonna have a field day hitting him all night! Only teams that stand a chance against SW are passing teams otherwise you can hang it up.

#1 Defense in the STATE

It's a little early to hitting the Spartan juice isn't it? I think South wins this game and maybe easily. The poor weather conditions can be a great equalizer, but I still think South wins. You "could" be the best defense in 3A (clearly others could debate that), but in the STATE - NO WAY!

That "Target" is probably the fastest player on the field tonight. Don't let his size fool you. SW should win, like I predicted. They are a 5A school, but it would do me nothing better to see the Indians pull it out to shut up loudmouths quoting best defense in the state when their schedule is a cupcake. Adair has the highest scoring offense in 3A and 3rd in "the state", but rational people would see that it is a product of the schedule and not blowing smoke saying they can't be stopped.

The rain is the best thing going in Adair's favor. Might be able to neutralize some of SW's speed.

 

It is awesome that Adair is having this kind of season. Love seeing some new blood! With that said think SW just has too many horses.
