I would say good shot Fleming and Lewis move to NE KY district, Ashland and Greenup move up it looks like, just leaving East Carter and Russell. Lewis and Fleming I would think would be the 2 to move that way.

Not arguing right or wrong, but I thought the KHSAA had a rule in place that if you transferred and were ruled ineligible and you transferred back, you were not eligible to go back to the school you came from.

While there would need to be room for future growth, 2,000 would be a lot of growth. If you go off current numbers the school would be under 1,500. 500 growth in Carter County would mean we have a big boom in population.

At the youth level, have fun and develop all the kids you can. One of the best kids I have coached in high school came in as a freshman and we had no clue even what position the kid would play. He fit no where on the field. As a junior and senior he was one of the best kids in the region and played college ball. People get to focused on making sure kids are ready for the pros at age 7. Here's the thing you can cut kids in grade 3 and they are gone forever. I started playing in 5th grade, played high school and college and now coach. If you want to get the kids extra work that is 100% fine but don't worry about being the league champ in 10 year old league. Develop and send 20 kids onto 11 year old league and all the way up.

He coached at Boyd for at least a year when Damron was HC at Boyd. So I think he had coached at Putnam before.

Velez transferred back home to FIU I think it was, Allen moved positions to TE, and Cureton went back home, room was getting thin.

No where near enough info to make a decision in any of these situations. Background, district they play in, who have they played in the playoffs, school population changes, heck run of talent coming through all need considered when making this choice. If I am in a district with 2 top 5 teams in the state, one playoff win a year is a lot to ask for anyone to do. You can be a 7 win team that is around the top 10 and lose first round to the best in the state, you people say that guy should be fired, you are nuts.

New format protects teams in really weak districts and punishes teams in stronger ones. There are multiple districts that could win #1-4 against cross districts and all those teams go home early playing each other while weak teams survive. You will see more blowout games later in the playoffs this year when the "Champions" from a district play anyone else.

Football is different from baseball and basketball already. In both those sports you play districts the first two games, but the champ and runner-up move on to regional where they play the winner and runner-up from other districts. In football, one team moves on from each district, not a good set up

good idea in theory, a few issues. 1. Now both teams are traveling along with fan bases will equal more expenses. 2. The crowd will suffer, granted with a long drive one school may not bring many people but would cutting that drive in half bring enough people to make up the difference. 3. You would have to pay to use most facilities costing more money. I say stay as is and you hope you host the game the next year.

You trade film because you are getting the film back in return from the other school. Most places, I can speak for ours have small enough staff that we don't have the people to send out coaches to scout others. If we have someone interested in coaching they are on the sideline. Most schools don't have the resources to send out scout crews.

the problem for a bunch of schools is the way the state slots the district schedules now, meaning certain weeks are all district games across the state for the most part. The schools that drop out would have extreme travel or go out of state to be able to schedule games unless multiple schools in there area did the same thing. I think this keeps a lot of schools from going that route.

West won the game no doubt, but they almost returned a kick for a td, got a TD late when East was throwing every play on a pick 6, East turned it over on the 15 going in to score, so I don't know if I would go with the whole "made the game closer than the score". Like I said West won, congrats to them, but don't act like it was a blowout.

All the Morehead coaches that were mentioned left for higher positions, or to go to a larger school. Would not call that an alarm. Would say that's good coaches that are advancing a career.

The East /Russell is correct, so you know one night at least.

go to priceline and look at the express deals tab. I use this every year, it gives you the number of stars for a hotel and the location. It gives you a much cheaper price but you don't know what hotel it is till you book. In the past I've been in the Holiday Inn University Plaza 2 times and the La Quenta last year. This is paying well less than 100 a night. When I looked this year you could book a hotel like the La quenta for around 50 and Holiday Inn for around 70. These are all pretty nice hotels and priceline restricts the hotels to all be high rated by customers, its all right on the website.

if they are going to play on Sunday, they should move the times up in the day. For me its about a 5 hour drive home, so a 6 central kick gets you out of the stadium by 9 maybe then 5 hours back home makes for a long night

In that case, does anyone know of one of the organizations that would cover the coaching side of things, if so my KEA membership may go out the door.

Louisville would be so much easier just from a travel point, Teams in western ky hit 65 and go north, Lex hits 64 and is there, NKY hits 71 and is there, even south eastern hits 75 to 64 and is there, the parkways going to BG are terrible. Plus like people have said, who cares about the empty seats, pretty much every state out there plays in too big of a stadium for the finals.

There's a bunch of schools already done, kind of tough to judge how to rank players on rosters

This schedule sucks, the khsaa has bent over for Rawlings money, the games were moved from Louisville because of the same stadium situation, if this schedule stands this will be the lowest attendance ever for a finals weekend.

Greenup needs to go back to rolling the bone at teams, solves the time problem and personally I think they are more affective out of it.
