Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I assume they worked it out this year so the WKU football schedule has no potential to screw things up?
theguru Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 I assume they worked it out this year so the WKU football schedule has no potential to screw things up? No idea but since they are using a 3 Day Format one day getting taken from the KHSAA shouldn't matter, they could just triple up.

Watusi Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 No idea but since they are using a 3 Day Format one day getting taken from the KHSAA shouldn't matter, they could just triple up.That's not likely. Last year the KHSAA had to play one game on Thursday because Friday was off limits. I assume they would go to a similar schedule if it happens again. Thursday evening - Class 1A Friday - reserved for CUSA Championship teams to practice / setup Saturday morning - CUSA Championship Saturday afternoon/evening - Class 5A & 6A Sunday - Class 2A, 3A & 4A

gchs_uk9 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 If I had my druthers, I'd prefer two games Friday, three on Saturday, and one on Sunday, but I think two games per day is a good format to follow. And speaking to questions/comments by @theguru and @Watusi regarding Western, their success, and how it altered the schedule last year, while it wasn't perfect, I thought the KHSAA handled that about as well as could be last year. I know as a fan I actually enjoyed watching the Western game early Saturday and then settling in for a night of high school football. I didn't like three games on Sunday, however.
Ram Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Hat's off to the KSAA for finally making the football championship a three day event. I have been asking for this for a long time. I'm sure my druthers had nothing to do with it, but I feel vindicated a little. Everyone benefits from this move. The city hosting the event will benefit with more people shopping and eating each day while game are not going on, the players will benefit by hopefully not being forced to warm up somewhere other then the field and being rushed off the field following a great victory and being able to celebrate a little. And the fans benefit from getting to make a weekend of it and being more comfortable able to watch all the games. Great move. Thank you KHSAA.

I would much rather Thursday be the third day vs. overlapping with the NFL on Sunday.
Ram Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I would much rather Thursday be the third day vs. overlapping with the NFL on Sunday. Hey, Bowling Green wasn't built in a day.
footballfever Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 The Conference USA Chsmpinship game will be Saturday. The team with highest conference winning % will host. ESPN has the rights to game so they can schedule kickoff what ever time they want. I personally liked that Saturday college game also. But, the weather was perfect!!
Racer89 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I would rather go with a Thursday-Saturday format than a Friday-Sunday format. Does not seem right to play high school sports on a Sunday to interfere with church. Most churches are getting into high gear with activities for the Christmas season at the beginning of December. If I am not mistaken, Tennessee has a Thursday-Saturday format for its championship games.
Bac2369 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Games would be played at 2 and 6 pm eastern time right?
Bear3 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 WKU will be very good again. Most of the offense returns other than Brandon Doughty. Lots of good defensive personnel returns and a couple of quality transfers will add to the strength of the defense. Tough road games at MTSU and Marshall could stand in the way, but I think there is a real chance that the KHSAA will be altering the schedule again.
All the Right Moves Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Here's a thought....how about moving it Lexington or back to Louisville since both now have turf and neither will be hosting games in December since the conferences have neutral sites? Both have more hotels, restaurants, and are more centrally located. Could even alternate between the 2.
