46-30 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

11-5 in the playoffs.

41-29 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

4-6 in the playoffs.

 

Team C

38-35 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

7-6 in the playoffs.

Team B. If you can't average at least one playoff win per season in this watered down 6 class system then something has to change.

I think program background is important as well as knowing where the team was at the beginning of the 6 years and where they are now. Hard saying a coach should be fired without knowing he took over a program that is a consistent contender or a project. I know that is probably to much information to give in this exercise, but I made my votes based on all teams being mediocre programs with the ability to get better.

On the surface, I tend to agree. Look like basically a 6-4 regular season record but slightly underachieving in the playoffs. However, there’s some “other stuff “ I’d like to know before passing final judgment. For example - average first round playoff seed.

I think we're looking at this all wrong if we're looking from a HS perspective.

 

All I see is wins and losses. Is the coach turning out quality young men? Are the kids passing classes? Are kids competing to the final whistle and learning to battle adversity? Are the kids being taught the importance of knowing where you're from and giving back?

 

There's so much more to it than the wins and losses.

Winning has nothing to do with some of the other stuff... BUT taking care of the other things can generally help in winning.

Lots of other factors need to be considered for me to make a decision on hiring or firing a coach as others in this thread have mentioned. However, to answer the question, I would not fire any of those coaches. In general, a coach in high school with a winning record should keep his job as long as he is doing the other things right.

Oh I agree with that. But when teams are winning the small stuff people generally get upset about tends to get pushed to the side. You start losing.. then it starts to see the light. I'm a believer as well, you take care of the little things, the big things fall into place.

People disregard the fact that MOST football coaches are also TEACHERS. What if these three people were very viable staff members and have done a great job in the classroom? Very few coaches in KY make enough to live on for just coaching. There are many more variables in any scenario. I would imagine there have been people with better records than those listed terminated though.

Tell that to all the teams that repeatedly are matched up with Trinity, Douglas, Scott Co, Cov Cath, Johnson Central, Boyle, and the list could go on.

Finish better than 4th in your district then and you won't be playing them first round. All I'm saying is one playoff win per year is not too much to ask. I understand much more goes into the firing of a coach but I'm just answering the question as it was given.
