Finish better than 4th in your district then and you won't be playing them first round. All I'm saying is one playoff win per year is not too much to ask. I understand much more goes into the firing of a coach but I'm just answering the question as it was given.

In the the old system you could still get matched up really poorly according to which cross districted you were matched with. In the new system it can be even worse. Good luck getting out of the first round when your district is Douglas and Scott Co or Boyle Co’s district. I’m just saying that 6 classes doesn’t mean playoff wins are easy unless you’re in the top 10-15% in the state or so. There are too many other factors when you take into account the district and playoff pairings.

Take out the state title and record for team A and let me know how they stand. The problem is not wins and losses. Rather it is the appearance of how things are being done or in some cases not done.

Need more context to officially make a call, but win loss record as a whole can be mis-leading in such a small sample size. All it takes is one 1-10 season or one 14-1 season to skew numbers.

 

Playoff games appeared in a much more telling number. In a six year span an average of two playoff games (12 total) would be a solid Mendoza Line, and probably a 6-6 record would be par in those.

Better yet. Look at the overall history of their program.

But the question was over the last 6 years. The new playoff alignment you're speaking of just began this year. But either way I just answered the question as it was asked and that was my best answer with as little of detail was given.

Team A

46-30 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

11-5 in the playoffs.

1 state championship.

 

Team B

41-29 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

4-6 in the playoffs.

 

Team C

38-35 overall record in the last 6 seasons.

7-6 in the playoffs.

No where near enough info to make a decision in any of these situations. Background, district they play in, who have they played in the playoffs, school population changes, heck run of talent coming through all need considered when making this choice. If I am in a district with 2 top 5 teams in the state, one playoff win a year is a lot to ask for anyone to do. You can be a 7 win team that is around the top 10 and lose first round to the best in the state, you people say that guy should be fired, you are nuts.

No they are not getting it done. Many many issues that I will not address on here. Perhaps no change is made, but things have been awfully quiet.
