  1. It was kind of like being at Keeneland and watching the novice horse player jumping up and down when his horse is 5 lengths ahead at the first quarter pole only to finish nearly dead last at the finish line.
  2. Great jobs Birds. Dixie did got up on the Birds, but then played like they were scared to death with a lead. Great teams find a way to win. Congrats to Dixie on an improved season from last year 5-7 to this year 6-6.
  3. I understand Morse is gone for the year with a knee injury. If that's true NCC will have their hands full with some bigger teams.
  4. I know there was an attempt, which still may be in the works to get Lexington Catholic on the schedule for 2011.
  5. I thought they did, but Bell declined. Not a 100% sure on that though.
  6. I'm not sure really. I like the fact that against Cov. Cath. Highlands had the ball for a little over 13 minutes, committed 3 turnovers and still won. Plus I'd rather drive 5 minutes than 3 1/2 or more. Go Cov. Cath!
  7. Covington Catholic can win this game if they go in to the game with the mindset that there has been a new KHSAA rule that prohibits JC from throwing the football at anytime during the game. During a game this year JC was 3rd and 37 and ran the ball, and yes they did get the first down! I know this sounds a little crass perhaps, but any respect you give their passing game takes away from all the respect that should be given to their running game. Maybe they complete a pass or two on ya, but all in all you'll have a much better shot.
  8. Couldn't you say this about any team in football?
  9. Creek did beat Woodford County by 14 earlier this year.
  10. After watching this game I learned the following: 1. Though Jude is a good runner, his state rushing record for a single game is a farce. 2. Highlands will hang 50 points on JC if they play each other.
  11. I've seen Ashland and Cov. Catholic play this year. Cov. Catholic is so much more physical. I think it's important that they really put it on Ashland Saturday who was beaten pretty handedly this year by Johnson Central. I've had a chance to see JC a couple of times this year and Cov. Catholic is more than capable of beating them.
  12. Highlands will have guys both ways before bringing any freshmen in to play meaningful minutes. I certainly agree that this is a very talented group of freshmen. Next year some of these boys will play.
  13. Actually Whackem'n'Stackem I don't think these threads are beating started with the intent to inflame, but rather a bush league attempt to get gain either more subscribers or posters. The posters on this site are sophisticated enough to come up with their own subjects to discuss and certainly don't need to be spoon fed bush league thread topics. In the last several weeks the amount of minutia on this site is at an all time high.
  14. Whackem'n'Stackem' I saw JC play this year. They aren't anywhere close to Ryle.
  15. I don't know, he rushed for 148 yards in a little over 13 minutes. Highlands will make adjustments and be ready for the 5A playoffs.
  16. You're right Hemple is averaging one more yard a carry than Towles this season. Tonight Towles ran for 148 yards. Tonight Hemple ran for 128 yards. I certainly see your point. Two different types of running styles.
  17. All I can say is that there won't be a one wing excuse.
  18. The listings on Insight don't show the game scheduled tomorrow night. I assume it's on channel 49.
  19. Hopefully the Trinity v. Highlands scrimmage continues. Both teams got a ton out of that scrimmage. It's great preparation for the upcoming season. I would love to see a Highlands v. SK game. Unless SK has a change of heart it's not likely to happen.
  20. I'm glad he's going to be ok and hopefully he and Zeke will be ready for the playoffs.
  21. I would hope after SK's refusal to compete in 2011 that Highlands drops them from their 7 on 7 competition. I'm sorry but there is more than 1 open date that both teams share. Logistically this is a no brainer.
