This game will be played at Highlands on Friday, November 5. Highlands finished first in their district while Woodford County finished fourth. Believe it or not, Highlands and Woodford County have never played each other in varsity football before!

Let's here some predictions. Also, for those of you who think it's pointless to discuss a first-round playoff game between a first and fourth-ranked team, just remember that back in 2008 fourth-ranked Bryan Station was leading first-ranked Highlands (at HHS) with less than a minute left. That's why they play the game!

What time will kick-off be, 7:30pm?

Woodford plays a reeling Highlands team (the worst in recent history:deadhorse:), does Highlands really have a chance in this game?

Could some BGP'ers who know tell us about WC's team, like what kind of offense they run? I remember that a couple of years back they were a pretty good team... are they down quite a bit this year?

Jackets are picking a bad time to come to Ft. Thomas...gonna be a long night with Highlands coming off a loss.

Birds put up 50 and allow 0.

Just wondering if some of the very talented freshmen are moving up and can they help fill in some of the holes created by injuries?

As talented as the freshmen group is Varsity ball and Freshmen ball are two different animals.

I agree completely (both with how talented this freshman group is and the two different animail comment). That being said, I fully expect the "introduction of the freshman" by them playing at least some of the fourth quarter in this first playoff game as has become a tradition at least in recent years (the Bryan Station game year being the exception to this tradition rule).

Highlands will have guys both ways before bringing any freshmen in to play meaningful minutes. I certainly agree that this is a very talented group of freshmen. Next year some of these boys will play.

I believe the Hays kid has a very good chance of playing a good deal of varsity next year. If nothing else I could see him being their return guy. His open field running skills are quite impressive. I could also see the True and Schweitzer kid seeing extensive playing time next year.

Other than a cup of coffee appearence I would be surprised to see many of the freshman seeing playing time with the varsity this year. Highlands is still very deep with quality players. I would be surprised to see Coach Mueller play Freshman over the current Soph's and Juniors.

Highlands in a blowout. Running clock early.

From what I've heard, most, if not all, of the ~40 Frosh are continuing to practice and will suit up tomorrow night. Not sure what the total # of players expected to dress tomorrow night will be, but it could be a fairly impressive / intimidating mass of bodies during pregame warmups and on the sideline. Hope someone gets a picture.

Highlands needs to quit worrying about players going both ways and start filling gaps with their best and most athletic players. I never understood why you have extremely talented players standing on the sidelines when you could use them on the field.

I agree. I think Drake Bruns should be used at running back. I believe Donovan McCoy would be a fantastic linebacker. And there are others, on both sides of the ball, that could make great contributions.

True. I have a feeling the Birds will do some position adjustments during the playoffs. Gotta do that when the injury bug bites hard. You sure don't want to not win state and leave some bullets in the chamber.

I think any of the DBs (Bruns, Abner, New) could be used on offense some. After all, both Abner and New each played QB in the past and Bruns has great hands. The thought of Bruns catching passes in the middle of the field or running out of the backfield is tempting to say the least.

Have no clue what Coach Mueller is likely to do over the next 5 weeks but this poster wouldn't be surprised to see some changes going forward.
