Dixie's Pike top junior Qb in state?
It may not be a make or break game for him, but to say it will have no impact on his recruiting is a bit presumptuous. He will be playing against the most athletic team he plays all year, which will in my opinion provide at least a little insight on how he might perform at the next level at QB. I'll admit he's got a pretty good thing going if his first year on the field as quarterback against varsity competition has no impact on whether he's recruited as a quarterback or not. I'm sure Tony Pike would love to have that game against Florida back, as well as his agent.

Northern Kentucky Preseason Top Ten
Not that I'm a math major, but the Highlands QB started 9 out of 15 games, which if I'm correct is better than half. According to the roster he's an inch taller than he was last year and is almost 50 pounds heavier. Things change in a year for a lot of players and teams. For those that have not seen Cory Compton for Highlands watch out.

Rules Question
My grandfather was at a knothole game in Campbell County the other day and gave the following account: There were two outs and a player on third base. The player on third charged for home in what may have been an attempt to steal home. Prior to reaching home the umpire called catchers interference for interfering with the batter. The runner came across the plate and the run was counted game over. My question is shouldn't the play have been dead when interference was called on the catcher resulting in the return of runner to third base. These were the facts given to me by Grandpa.

Dixie's Pike top junior Qb in state?
Didn't Dixie have a potent receiving core last year? The three amigos I believe they were called. Dixie's QB last year had 2489 yards passing and 855 yards rushing and they were still 5-7. They'll need more than Zeke Pike.

May I suggest the Highlands v. Dixie game at Dixie.

Top RB'S in NKY
With all due respect VOR Pike wasn't even mentioned as being a top QB until you brought him up.

The current QB is 6'5 220. That just might happen.

Is Highlands looking for a new QB coach?
Not sure who will be the next QB coach at Highlands, but Patrick Towles and the big lefty have a very good relationship.

Well that's the great thing about the site. You can think, perceive and feel anyway you choose. It is certainly your privilege has a paying member on this site to articulate your outrage, frustration, disppointment, sadness ect... about the way something was posted.

Sorry for the grammer mistake. I appreciate you bringing that to my attention. I will try to edit it right away.

"Quote of the Day"
Wow what a dressing down. Did you read the post? I never said the coach was doing a bad job. It has nothing to do with kids trying to feel good about themselves. My comment was regarding his usage of the word amazing to describe his team's birth in the regional tournament. He's an adult not a child. I spoke about his comment not any of his players. I don't make negative comments about players, but I will say something about an adult. It's nice to know that the Kumbaya Captain is on his job.

"This feels pretty amazing to finally get us back to the region" Tommy Sorrell Bellevue Head Basketball Coach Bellevue Tigers Coach Sorrell if you draw long enough you'll eventually pull a rabbit out of the hat. Nothing really amazing about drawing a team with a recored of 2-21. It's even less amazing that you beat them.

Officials - Bad Calls
Most are pretty bad. The worse thing is the inconsistency. I would hate to have a job where I had to or chose to run away after it was over.

Boone County 66 Highlands 56
A Birds fan here, but you are right. Good players find a way to good programs. Do you think the Highlands Football team isn't going to get a transfer from somewhere this year? I'm not a tremendous Fooks fan, but she like Mueller have worked hard to develop their programs. She's simply reaping the benefit from her past efforts. Boone County in my opinion is the best team in the 9th, but are very dependent on Moss. As long as Moss has good games against good teams they will be tough to beat in this region.

Cameron Dierig of Highlands receiving Anthony Munoz Award
Strong work ethic plus tremendous parental support equals great football player. Not really an elaborate formula, but often overlooked.

Highlands/Ryle predictions 1/22/10
I saw Lex. Cath. play earlier in the year and get beat by Notre Dame. A Ryle loss to Lex. Cath. leads me to believe Highlands will win this one. By how much I don't have a clue, but I'd be suprised if the Birds don't come away with a win in this one.

Tate Nichols (Ryle) to Notre Dame?
Tremendous upside here. Upside sounds rather simplistic yet it's a major factor in determining whether you play at the D1 level. Good luck Tate!

Boone County 66 Highlands 56
When you have great a great penetrating guard who who thinks about passing first you're going to have success. Sandlin does what a good point guard should do and that's make everyone on her team better.
