Congrats to Jared and the Highlands program. I like when programs go back to former players and bring them in as coaches. I believe this a great hire for the program and for Jared to get his feet wet in coaching. I don't think there is any downside to this hiring at all since he knows the standards of the program and what will be expected of him.

Congrats and good luck and hopefully we can get a Highlands-Boyle County match up sometime in the future.

Congrats Jared!

I think this is a nice addition to the Highlands football staff.

Great news here. I dont know who I am more excited for, Jared or the kids who will get to work with him. These QBs will exposed to some really interesting information. I know the college stuff is leaps and bounds above high school because I was fortunate enough to experience it, but I cant even imagine the NFL info and study that the kids will have available to them now. Congrats Jared. Now you just went from earning a few bucks in the NFL to making like 4 cents an hour after it is all said and done. Go Birds, 20n10

Becausssse. Its just that, he went from making money in the NFL to making nothing when you compare the hrs vs the pay at the end of the day as a high school coach because I did it with baseball. Its a coaching joke that obviously you dont get.

I know hes not there for the money, he is there for the Kids and could care less about the money. :ohbrother:

Some people don't realize the amount of time it takes to be a great coach. They think that is just a couple of hours after school and thats it. People that have been there and done that know better. Highlands football didn't get to the level they are , by coaches just coaching a couple of hours after school.( Sorry if I let the cat (bird) out of the bag) :D

Bingo. I really admire him for that.

I think she does. I think she will also see the benefits of having a player around with the likes of JLO. May learn a few things. :thumb:

Great hire for Highlands, I'm sure Coach Mueller had been looking forward to this opportunity for quite some time. Jared set SEC records and was able to play back up to some league and super bowl MVP's. Talk about a ton of experience and knowledge.

Now, now ... no comments with "ton" allowed no matter how the word is used.

Congrats to Jared and to the young men he will be coaching. Not many high school players get the opportunity to be coached by a former NFL player.

Although I guess we have a few of those in N. Ky. - Kozerski at Holy Cross; Brilz at Beechwood; Max Montoya also coached at Beechwood for a few years. There are probably some others I am missing. Now we can add Lorenzen to the former NFLers who are/have coached in N. Ky.

Congrats to Jared! A good hire for the boys and program. :dancingpa

It is amazing when you talk to qb's from the NKY and ask them questions about football to find out what they are not being taught.

There are a lot of varsity football coaches that volunteer. So he may have chosen not to get paid and allow that money to be spent on other things related to the football program or athletic department.

Good Luck to Coach Lorenzen.

Couldn't be happier for the kids, program and Jared!!!
