  1. I agree totally. It will be a brutally physical game and to come out of it with no significant injuries will be a blessing for both teams.
  2. That would be accurate VOR because after the first game of the season the point becomes moot.
  3. Agree but I'd more worried if I didn't have my starting QB going for me in the opener.
  4. Dixie should probably be worrying about NCC before they start thinking about a match-up with Highlands.
  5. Three words stick out here: Perhaps, If and Could Put.
  6. What is funny is that Pike and Towles have no animosity towards each other at all. Both contacted each other after each had committed to their respective schools. I think both of these guys see the bigger picture.
  7. Dixie certainly has improved, but it seems they've taken baby steps. In 09 they were 5-7 and in 10 they were 6-6 after adding a 5 star QB. In 10 they scored 91 more points and gave 10 less points from the year before. I don't know what they have coming up through the JV ranks from last year, but assuming that they play a couple of playoff games I would say 7-5 in 2011.
  8. How is the onside kickoff team looking?
  9. I'm glad Jack is getting the opportunity to continue to play.
  10. You are correct. One cannot take an official visit until their senior year.
  11. I'm not more knowledgeable about the game than you are, but generally speaking basketball in Central Kentucky is what football is in Northern Kentucky. Like the culture in Ft. Thomas produces special football players I think the same can be said for basketball in Central Kentucky. Oh I think teams in Northern KY certainly do run the types of traps that Catholic ran last night, they just don't do them as effectively. I was told the Martin kid from Catholic is going to KY on a baseball scholarship.
  12. I thought Dixie gave a pretty good account of themselves last night. The overall team quickness of Catholic it what really killed them. Hatton's jump shots in the 4th quarter were coming up very short, which was more of a testament of the relentless pressure Catholic put on him all night and he still had 18 points I believe. Dixie should have another crack at it next year.
  13. IMO, probably will be one of the best Highlands defenses overall that has been around in a very long time.
  14. I doubt that's even accurate VOR. Why would a two time state championship QB want to leave. I have no idea if Pike is considering leaving Dixie, but he would be more likely to go to Ryle than Towles ever would.
  15. Who can stop Geisler?
  16. No weaknesses on their team. I'll just say that's a stretch.
  17. No, I didn't say that. Sorry If I struck a nerve.
  18. The officiating was worse than the play last night. I didn't in my opinion determine the outcome of the game, but it was pathetic! I think that probably what was so upsetting to the fan you referenced in your earlier post.
  19. I will have to agree with Whackem'n'Stackem' that it will be a circus over there and a lot of fun to watch. With that being said I don't have a clue at this point who comes out on top in this one.
  20. You don't very often see any players knock the ball out of Carter's or Patrick's hands when they get a board.
  21. Highlands lacks the "Worker Bees" needed to beat teams like Scott. I would love to see the rebounding stats from last night. Several times there was one Highlands player trying to get a rebound while 4 others were standing on the perimeter having a "Kodak" moment. This has to change or they won’t have anymore than 4 games left.
  22. For Lexington Catholic to compete for a 4A state title there is going to have to be monumental improvement. Going from a 7 point win over a 1-10 Madison Central team in 2010 to state champion in 2011 with the addition of Highlands would be truly impressive. Good luck to the Knights!
  23. Clyde is right on this. I think there is about 9 months that separate these two players. Good luck to both on the upcoming year.
