If I was going to pick one I would take Pike because he also plays defense.

I was referencing just their QB abilities.

I would still take Pike.

1. Pike

2. Pike

3. Towles

4. Towles

5. Towles

**** I would take Towles overall. The biggest reason is because of #5..

I would still take Pike.

Have you ever seen Towles play live?

Not being around or knowing either from a football on-the-field perspective I find it impossible to judge the leadership category.

I think Pike's a much better thrower from arm strength to mechanics.

Overall, while close, Pike is the better pure qb. No clue on intangibles.

Watched him play Ryle I am more impressed with Pike!

I want to make clear that both are great high school QBs. Sometimes these A vs B threads turn into bashing one in the name of the other. That's not the case with me.

I agree with you but also I think the recruiters see something in Pike to.

I would go with Pike on 1 through 3, and Towles on 4 and 5. Towles is more elusive in the open field and the way he took over the offense two years ago and leading Highlands to their two titles under him speaks for itself.

Who is better at the following:

Pike's arm strenght and accuracy is pretty good, and so is Towles'. They both move pretty good in the pocket, but i would give the edge to Pike. But not by much. Pike definately has the edge finding his receivers once he's out of the pocket and on the move.

They both had really good recievers last year to throw to. Gold and Sheehan were really good at catching the deep ball for Towles, as were Leonard and Cohorn were for Pike.

I don't think you can teach leadership. Either your a leader or your not. Like I said earlier this is the biggest difference between the 2 in my opinion..Towles is simply a better leader..

Who is better at the following:

1- Passing accuracy --(Pike) Just because Towels guys couldn't catch everything he throw to them. One guy had way to many open field drops which hurt Pat

2- Arm strength --Toss up They both have very strong arms

3- Moving in pocket-- Pat for sure. HHS def job was to keep Pike in pocket bec ause he cant throw from the pocket

4- Running ability (speed and elusiveness)-- Well just look at the state game and that speaks for it's self for Pat

5- Leadership[/quote]----No question on this one. I am not going to bash a fine young player in Pike so we will just give this one to Pat

So there is 3 1/2 for Pat --- 1 1/2 for Pike

Pike will be a very good D1 player but not at qb. Were Pat is a true QB
