If both of them want to play QB in college they better be smart and pick a school where they will not only get a great education but also one where they can play soon and not stand on the sideline for 3 yrs and then get converted to a TE.

I would like to see Pike at QB for the Birds and Towles at QB for Dixie to see how each performs in a different situation.. Would Towles make Dixie better?? Would Pike have led the Birds to the title?

From what I have been told very few are recruiting him as a true QB. More like you'll get a shot at QB then move where we feel you are best suited down the line...

Count me surprised in a few years if Pike takes a snap at QB at a D1 school as a starter. On the other hand, count me surprised in a few years if Patrick does not takes snaps at QB at a D1 school.

According to his coach very few are not recruiting him as a QB.

Comparisons are just so tough people. No doubt that both are very good QBs, and no doubt that they have somewhat equal size.

Now when we start talking about abilities, attitude and leadership qualities, we must take into account ones age. Anyone know how old each of these young men will be or are at this point in time. Asking because it does make a difference in all of the 3 latter if we want to make a fair comparison based on the most important facts. Most noticeable would be arm strength, and when you have great arm strength your accuracy will improve based on confidence.

I was talking the other day with a buddy of mine and we were talking about Brandon Roller, he graduated at 17. Could have played another yr for the Birds!!!!! Yikes.

I know Pike is 18 now and will turn 19 in his senior year. Not sure about Towles; however, never heard that he was held back like Zeke.

I just don't buy that he won't. Someone will be happy with a 4 or 5 star QB and will play him there. Not many were willing to keep Pat White at QB including most of the southern schools, but he went where he was definitely going to stay at QB. Granted I have not seen him in person, but I just can't imagine that there is not one offense in college football that could use him as a QB. Maybe the the pure passing schools that run pro-style or spread heavy pass offenses may not be completely sold on him, but I'll take the bet that he plays QB in college if he wants to.

I recently watched a show about what it takes to be a great quarterback on ESPN. The consensus pretty much was that great physical attributes were common, but that it was the intangibles that ultimately separated most quarterbacks, particularly at the highest level.

Notre Dame recruited Demetrius Jones as a QB. He ended up flaming out as a LB at Cincinnati. Point???
