Towles in a New York minute. Attitude and character - exceptional.

I'm going to enjoy watching them both play at a high D-1 level. Both will find D-1 programs that fit their talents.

 

For you BGP historians out there - when was the last time, if ever, that N.Ky Football had 2 very highly recruited high D-1 QBs in the same class?? Let's enjoy it while it lasts folks...

I wouldnt consider both of them qb recruits. Pat yes but Pike will not play qb at a big D1 school. he will be a great tight end!

I have seen both play and from what I saw, I beleive that they are pretty equal on the first four without much difference going either way. With saying that, I also believe that Towle's leadership abilities are stronger, which make him a better quarterback. If Pike's leadership and emotional capabilities improve, I would rate them as equal overall. Leadership is very important at the quarterback position.

Why not? I'm a Highlands guy & a big fan of Pat, but I see no reason Pike can't play D1 QB assuming he continues to develop at the rate he has. I won't get into the attitude thing because that's been over-done on here already. I'm sure he could play TE, but watching him throw he sure looks D1 to me. The throw he made on the run to the corner of the far end zone in the regular season game was as good a throw from a hs QB I've ever seen.

I would like to see Pike at QB for the Birds and Towles at QB for Dixie to see how each performs in a different situation.. Would Towles make Dixie better?? Would Pike have led the Birds to the title?

No question Towles would have made Dixie better just by his leadership. HHS would have still won the title with Pike there, but with the tude he may have been standing on the sideline next to Dale!

I agree. That throw to Cohorn was out of the pocket and in full stride That showed his arm strength and his ability to throw the deep ball while bring flushed out of the pocket. I was at The Boone game where Pike threw 3 similar tosses in the back of the end zone to Cohorn while on the move. In my opinion, Patrick iputs a better touch on his passes. He has that ability to put alot of air under his passes and let his recievers use their speed to catch up to the ball. Both of these guys can get it done playing the QB position. I really enjoy watching these two. We all know that Patrick will play QB at the next level. With Pike, we're all going to have to see where he decides to go after high school.

Who is better at the following:

 

1- Passing accuracy --(Pike) Just because Towels guys couldn't catch everything he throw to them. One guy had way to many open field drops which hurt Pat

2- Arm strength --Toss up They both have very strong arms

3- Moving in pocket-- Pat for sure. HHS def job was to keep Pike in pocket bec ause he cant throw from the pocket

4- Running ability (speed and elusiveness)-- Well just look at the state game and that speaks for it's self for Pat

So there is 3 1/2 for Pat --- 1 1/2 for Pike

Pike will be a very good D1 player but not at qb. Were Pat is a true QB

 

I see what your saying that his receivers hurt his QB rating.

From what I have been told very few are recruiting him as a true QB. More like you'll get a shot at QB then move where we feel you are best suited down the line...

I think Pike will end up being a 6'5 260lb defensive end in college. His demeanor is better suited for the defensive side of the ball imo..
