Scott 69 Highlands 60

Featured Replies

Final.

Scott led 40-28 at half behind 9 treys.

The Eagles scored 5 points in the first 14 seconds of the game and raced out to a 13-2 lead. The Birds regrouped and went on their own 12-3 run cutting the lead to 2pts. Scott was on fire in the first half shooting the 3 ball over the Highlands zone.

Highlands had a couple of chances in the 2nd half to cut into the consisten 8-9 point lead but a couple easy buckets just wouldnt fall. This Scott bunch really gets after it all over the floor and they not only shoot the 3 well but also drill their Free Throws.

Did Haynes play much for Scott?

Stivers was hot from behind the arc. Smith is the real deal, great handle.

Sophomore Jackson with 12 for the Eagles. He's going to be a good one for Coach Carr over the next few years.

Wow I knew Crowley was drilling 3's but didn't realize he poured in 27 nice.

Scott is very similar to Holy Cross in style but much better shooters. I gurantee they shot over 50% from the field as well as 75% from the stripe. Bunch of wiry kids flying all over the place shooting 3's like there's no tomorrow.

Coach Carr does a nice job with them.

Cameron did not play.

Nice road win for Scott playing without their second leading scorer. Big night for Stivers shooting the ball and Smith with a double/double with 14 assists.

Scott can be a very dangerous team when they shoot the ball well. They are able to put a ton of pressure on you defensively by being able to spread the floor and knock down shots. If they can continue to get contributions from Stivers and Farris with some bench help from Jackson they will be tough to deal with when Haynes returns.

Scott is now 9-2 in last 11 games and seem to be playing well heading into tournament time.

Nice to see Jack Stewart back in uniform and playing well.

Highlands lacks the "Worker Bees" needed to beat teams like Scott. I would love to see the rebounding stats from last night. Several times there was one Highlands player trying to get a rebound while 4 others were standing on the perimeter having a "Kodak" moment. This has to change or they won’t have anymore than 4 games left.

Congrats to Coach Carr and the Eagles!

The rebounding edge to Scott was especially troubling given the size advantage the Birds had. Scott has a scrappy bunch of players. With the exception of #44 for the Eagles who had 2 fouls 3 minutes into the game and sat the rest of the 1st half, Towles and Stewart had a definitive size advantage that the Birds were unable to take advantage of throughout the game.

Reflection of their coach. One constant in Carr's tenure has been that his teams play hard. Highlands had size advantage but Scott was coming down with rebounds in traffic and getting majority of 50/50 balls.
