A great come-from-behind victory for the Birds!

 

Can anyone say enough about back-up QB Donovon McCoy? That was an amazing performance. He just refused to be brought down!

The Birds are M.A.S.H. unit. There are so many injuries I can't even name them all. McCoy needs to play some rb. He is the best runner on this team right now..

Highlands was a completely different offense with him in the game. Teamed up with Towles, two potential passer/runners in the backfield?????forgeddaboutitttt!!!! No brainer IMO

Wow, no love for Dixie? I guess they weren't supposed to be on the same field with the Birds.

I wouldn't say that there isn't any love for Dixie, they have a respected program. I just beleive that many forgot how much more competitive the NKY 5A district is this season and how Highlands is not nearly as dominant as they have been over past seasons. The way it sounds, I wish I would have came to this one.

Hope Patrick Towles is OK, looks like an ankle sprain. Donovan was amazing in relief of Patrick with an incredible run down the HHS sideline. Birds made some modifications on defense. Putting 4 down lineman on the D line made a difference in getting pressure on Pike, who BTW, was tossed from the game after getting a 2nd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

 

Pike is a great talent who needs to control his emotions.

Dixie played an excellent game. They gave a D-1 QB plenty of time to throw and he did a great job, too bad to see him get ejected in the end, hopefully, it doesn't carry over to next year. The young Birdie receivers have to step up way too many drops tonight. Highlands running game has not been there, the QB draw is the most effective rushing play and boy did McCoy step up. That kid can fly, he was touching Will Bardo speed out there. If there going to give it to someone in the backfield, I wish True would get more touches he can gain yards very nice down hill runner.

I think it would carry over to basketball so I think he might have to sit out a game in that sport...not for sure but think that is the case

No surprises in this game. I knew Dixie was going to give them alot more than folks had predicted. Donovan was the difference in this game.

Wow, did not know about this until you mentioned it in this thread. Not good, and this young man needs to work on his maturity. However I must say he has a lot of heart. I think a lot was put on his shoulders this year as a first time starter at QB/fullback/defensive lineman.
