Playing with and against the Holmes teams of the late 70's (Beal , Davis and Walton), seeing a score like this makes me really sad. Hope Holmes gets back to their former elite status.

Thought I had seen where Greenwood had played Friday and Saturday night, so 3 games in 4 days . Didn't appear to have Central's depth. Centrals pressure was unrelenting and game just got out of control. Kind of like how the draw played out. Had a son who played on the 2012 Greenwood team . Same deal . 3 way tie with coinflip resulting in Greenwood/WC semifinal at Central. Didn't work out well for the Gators.

Hadn't been to a High School game in several years but decided to go Monday mainly just to see if the Greenwood hype was real. Nice team but came away really impressed with Central . Curious if that was a typical game physicality wise. I've seen less contact in football games. Greenwood struggled to finish with all the contact. District games will be a war.

BG’’s TD In the first half was the result of the horse collar on 3rd and forever. Allowed BG to retain possession. Otherwise HIghlands would of gotten ball back with 4 minutes or so . Still almost scored getting the ball back with under a minute. Doesn’t count as a fumble or INT but same result.

Been MIA for several years . Kind of a “If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all kind of guy”. Went to game just hoping for a competitive outing by the Birds but felt they’d probably lose badly. Saw a team that was disciplined, tackled well in space and had a solid game plan and play calling in general. Truly excited for these boys . They have bought in and deserve it . Thought it would take a few years to right the ship . Congrats to all involved. Full strength team will be a lot of fun to watch!

Would like to see this game . Can casual observers still get into a High School games these days ? Wondering if attendance limited to family and students only? Thanks

Haven’t posted in a long time. Great game by both teams. Have been hesitant to even think the Birds are back. After tonight I feel confident they are contenders again . Highlands passes the look test this year with speed and decent size . Play hard and fly to the ball on defense. Just a few plays from pulling off a big win although I think this game now has them thinking they can play with anybody in 5A. Happy alum tonight! Big thanks to whomever allows us to watch these games live . Haven’t missed a game all year. Needed a little Dramamine after tonights feed though.

Just found it . Came out in the forensic audit. Actual amount was 300k per year. Probably why they're not on the air anymore.

During investigation into UL foundation it was determined they provided funds for a "pro UL " radio show believed to be The Ramsey and Rutherford Show. Amount was significant somewhere around 200k if I remember correctly.

So how does a coach handle that situation when the kid is an important piece of a potential state champion caliber team. Tough situation. Hate to penalize a kid for a rash decision made by a parent.

Probably depends on the coach. Both brothers warmed up for the game. The older brother wasn't in the starting lineup so it appeared their mother marched over and took them home. Just packed up and left. Never seen anything like it. Another odd development, Greenwood was up 1, got fouled and then technical on BG. Missed front end of bonus and hit one of the two technical shots. So Greenwood up 2 with about 30 seconds. Believe Wison fouled and converts with 10 seconds . Misses FT but BG gets rebound. Gwood gets steal and kid is off for a layup but then suddenly takes a Uturn and runs out to 3 point line. Heard from player on the team the kid who stole ball thought they were up 1 but the game was tied. Greenwood gets beat easily in OT. Fun game and great atmosphere.
