Good grief. They worked together on a board for securing funding for public schools. Not hardly tinkering around with C4. Ayers is actually a very active member in the Chicago community and Mayor Richard Daly speaks with him a lot on issues relating to education. No one is calling Daly a terrorist sympathizer.
Have you read the articles that have been posted or watched the videos? If so, why are you continuing to understate the extent of Obama's relationship with Ayers?

Please, tell me what the extent of the relationship is. Tell me why I should be worried that Obama is a terrorist sympathizer.

How about we talk about McCain's association with G Gordon Liddy?
It's already been discussed in another thread. I don't recall Liddy blowing up any federal buildings but I do remember that Liddy paid his debt to society by serving a substantial prison sentence. I do not believe that Mr. Liddy would knowingly associate with known terrorists like Ayers and Dohrn.

Maybe the Liddy thread is still open.

Here's the thing though, I don't care if McCain knows Liddy. I don't believe it makes him less of a person or a worse of a candidate.

After all of the unfounded personal smears that Obama's minions have directed at Gov. Palin, she seems to be enjoying her role as McCain's attack dog. Obama will be playing defense for 30 days because Biden is no match for Palin on the campaign trail.

Of course, Biden is not on the campaign trail at the moment, due to the death of his mother-in-law.

Not so fast. Biden went to Starbucks this morning, too. He can currently be found closely examining the back of his cup for wisdom to keep up with Palin.

I don't know, Hoot, you might be onto something. I just saw a clip of McCain campaigning today. He asked "who is Barack Obama?" and someone, perhaps "Joe Sixpack," yelled out "a terrorist!" Fear-mongering may work yet.

And they're worried about indoctrination from the Obama campaign.

There is much focus on McCain's attempt to tie Obama to Bill Ayers, but that the former Weatherman is a mere means to an end.

Such was made plain with the new McCain ad this morning suggesting Obama cares little for US troops and has actually endangered them.

It's this line, used over the weekend and again today, that captures the message Republicans are trying to drive: "This is not a man who sees America as you and I do -- as the greatest force for good in the world."

At best, this is to say that Obama doesn't believe in American exceptionalism. At worst, and this is where the new ad goes, it means Obama doesn't sufficiently love America and is actually apart from it.

At first, I suppose, I didn't want to agree with Jonathan Martin. Unfortunately, I think he's right.

Prior to Palin's delivering of the attack, the campaigner warming up the crowed referred to Obama by his middle name, the first time, to my knowledge, any campaign has chosen to go there. Today at a rally McCain was asking the audience, rhetorically, "who is the real Barack Obama?" The most audible voice in the crowd shouted "terrorist!" Is it really Bill Ayers, or does Obama secretly cheer for the Islamic fundamentalists? It's pretty clear the Wright stuff didn't stick, and the Ayers stuff isn't going to either. Why would it this time? It might be a little deeper than placing Obama on some non-profit education board with a bad character.

I might be wrong. And I hope I am. McCain has always seemed well above this kind of stuff through the years and is why I've supported him. But, when Sarah Palin drags the campaign down this path, trailing by statistically significant numbers with the election only a few weeks a way, this sort of observation is demanded.

As I noted above, I have posted links to articles and video clips that explain the ties. Why not take a look at them?

Here is a little more to think about, in case any Obama supporters would truly be concerned to discover that Obama and Ayers were more than just neighbors nodding politely when they met on the street.

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I've recently spent days looking through them.

.

.

.

CAC translated Mr. Ayers's radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with "external partners," which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).

Mr. Obama once conducted "leadership training" seminars with Acorn, and Acorn members also served as volunteers in Mr. Obama's early campaigns. External partners like the South Shore African Village Collaborative and the Dual Language Exchange focused more on political consciousness, Afrocentricity and bilingualism than traditional education. CAC's in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement.

Having a potential president closely aligned with an avowed "small 'c' communist" and terrorist is a real laughing matter. Amazing.

It really is amazing...every time I start giving what you present a look with open eyes (was just reading your last link), you go and say something like this. What do you mean by "closely aligned"? Do you mean that Obama is a communist? (I thought that you believed that he was a socialist?) Do you believe that Obama is secretly a terrorist that has planted bombs, like Ayers?

And, of course, you miss the point of my post entirely.

My post was clear. The "small 'c' communist" reference was to Ayers and it is how he describes himself. Ditto for the terrorist reference. Ayers has admitted to a series of bombings and shown no regrets for his terrorist past.

Closely aligned means closely aligned. Obama administered a program that Ayers founded whose goal was to radicalize Chicago school children. Obama helped distribute millions of dollars to meet the objectives outlined by Ayers. There was no evidence that the expenditures improved the quality of the schools affected by the cash outlays.
