How do you interpret them? What do you read between the lines?

BP has been my favorite for a while...

He is the best all around position player on the team. Hobbs could be later, but I have to see more of him to make that claim.

IMHO, among other things, he is saying:

 

* The veterans in the bullpen STINK.

 

* Too much attention / respect is being paid to Junior during this chase.

 

* Josh is a nice story but not ready to be a center-piece of this team.

 

* Homer Bailey should NOT be up here.

 

Those are my interpretations. Hats off to BP for at least speaking his mind. I could be interpreting these incorrectly, that is why I asked what others read into it.

I doubt this comment, as much as I love it, will win him many friends in the clubby. Frankly, not that it should matter. I'm sure some people think he should have kept this opinion in-house, but I'm glad he didn't.

I'd say these public comments should get him completely out of the shadow of Junior.

To me, it sounds like BP is simply saying that the Reds forgot to be a team this year.

I agree and also include, some of the veterans aren't pulling their weight. I've always liked Phillips and he just went up a few notches, from my standpoint.

Team concept, is vital and be shared, by all.

 

This is a critical time, in the Reds future for the next 2-3 years. It will be interesting, to see how it plays out and who, will remain.

I agree that Junior neither claims to be, nor takes on the role of, a leader. :thumb:
