gchs_uk9
We ran Tubby off with only one title, the tournament is a crapshoot right? If Cal only has one when it’s all said and done, will he be validated for having more NBA picks but same amount of titles? Or is that actually worse? The difference is Kentucky with Calipari is in the hunt every year. Some of those Tubby Smith teams were known as non-competitors before the season started. Under Smith, Kentucky advanced to one final four (and won it), 3 elite eights, 2 sweet sixteens, and 4 second rounds. Under Calipari, Kentucky has advanced to four final fours (and won one), 3 elite eights, 1 sweet sixteen, and 1 second round. They also had an NIT appearance. By every single metric except for winning the national championship, Calipari is shooting craps at Kentucky much better than Tubby did.

Plus (bold part) that was with pretty much all Pitino's players.
Voice of Reason
Dean Smith. Considered by many a genius coach. Recruited a plethora of high level talent. Coached 36 years at UNC. Two titles.
Mack The Knife
Dean Smith. Considered by many a genius coach. Recruited a plethora of high level talent. Coached 36 years at UNC. Two titles. And both were kinda gift wrapped...
The Professor
Dean Smith. Considered by many a genius coach. Recruited a plethora of high level talent. Coached 36 years at UNC. Two titles. I’ve argued this for years. Winning a one-and-out tournament like the NCAA is one of the toughest championships in sports. Smith won two in 36 years and one could say had a lot of darn luck on his side to win those. Roy Williams has won 3 titles but 2017 was a gift from the referees. Just research the Arkansas, Kentucky and Oregon games for further details.
00Rocket28
Well one a decade is his pace at UK so that makes sense, next decade he will. catch Billy Donovan and Jay Wright. Two guys who could take over for him. Well Coach K has 5 in 40 years at Duke, right?
GOREDDEVILS
I've read Kentucky might be pushing to get 6'10 N’Faly Dante to reclassify to 2019. He's currently listed as #8 player and #2 center on Rivals class of 2020.
futurecoach
Plus (bold part) that was with pretty much all Pitino's players. I always hate when people use that argument. People act like Tubby was gift wrapped the most talented team in the country. That UK team was not the most talented team in the country that year compared to the other top teams. So while they may have been recruited by Pitino. Tubbys system probably fit that years team even better, and was a big reason they won it all. Sorry pet peeve of mine when people bring that up and literally for no reason at all. UK may have one less title right now if Pitino coached that team and not Tubby. GOREDDEVILS
Perhaps I missed it. Is EJ staying in the draft? He has not said yet but we should know later tonight or tomorrow. The return deadline is 11:59 tonight. But he could just either let the ncaa know and not make it public until tomorrow or whenever he chooses.
