I know who the official is. I dont want to get into trouble by putting his name on here. He was removed from last nights game with Western and Desales, after getting into a fight or heated discussion with a ref who was supposed to do the next game. They where both escorted out of the Gardens. He was suposed to do the 7th region final. He got some type of restraining order signed by a judge blocking the game or not allowing someone to take his place.

Don't worry everyone will know who he is after tonight. He did interviews for about an hour tonight. It will be on all the news channels in Louisville tonight.

The game has been moved to Monday. No word on where it will be held. This means the winner will have one day between the region finals and their first game in the Sweet 16. By far a big disadvantage for them. It was shame to see this happen to these teams. They had nothing to do with it, and just wanted to play.

An unasked question.

Why are the principal and AD from a school questioning the assigning of officials on the day of a game? Were they implying that the officials would have been biased?

Every school is allowed to scratch a certain number of officials, they had their scratches and apparently these two officials weren't on their scratch list.

Why would the assigner change officials at the last minute?

This all sounds very ugly to me and I really have to wonder why the J-Town administration felt the need to act as they did.

I'm no lawyer and don't want to be, but the injunction essentially means no further action can be taken -- in this case, the tournament can't continue -- until the referee's complaint is ruled on by a judge. Once he convinced a judge to issue the injuction, to play the game in violation of that injunction would be contempt of court. I'd think it would carry some sort of criminal penalty, and at the very least you'd run the risk of having to replay the game after the court hearing.

Couldn't agree with you more. If a coach knows that a certain official graduated from an opposing school and is scared when they play them he might be biased, then scratch him. Let's say the top 3 officials in the 7th region, 2 graduated from J-Town and the other from Ballard do you keep them out of the final game??? Officials are out there to do one job and one job only, call a clean and fair game. When it comes to tourney time you have to have your top officials out there no matter what.

If this were his living, I might could see his point. But it's an extra $60 every three days. Louisville should do like they do in other parts of the state and swap officials with other regions. I know the 2nd Region had 3rd Region officials and there were few complaints. Next year, they get 1st Region officials.

Here's one guy who still thinks the fans come to the game to see the referee officiate the game. Of course, teams let players back on teams for breaking the rules so why shouldn't they let him come back and ref after getting tossed from the arena WHILE reffing a game.
