How do you come out fired up for a team that has never beaten you and has lost their first two games to Bath County and Nicholas County? You guys need to relax and let the team come together as the season wears on. The secondary is new all the way across and most of the guys we lost had been starting since their sophomore years. Losing Harvey up front left another gap to fill. The coaching staff will do their jobs and get the team prepared every week. As for worrying about giving up an early score and playing from behind, it's better to have played from behind and won than to never have trailed and not know how to respond when you are behind (a la 2004). And lastly, for anybody thinking about Belfry and worrying what they do, since we wouldn't even see then until the semi's if we get that far (or if they get there for that matter), the team needs to play them one game at a time as Coach McGlone said in today's paper. Worrying about a team you wouldn't face until game 14 is not a constructive use of time.

System sounded great, now work on getting a better guy on the mic...:creepy: ...he was awful. I HATE PA announcers that cheerlead from the pressbox. But even if you take away that annoying aspect, he's still bad. Wrong calls all night...repeatedly giving wrong penalties and whether they were declined or not, wrong names and numbers (maybe a bad spotter on some of those); in any event, the guy needs to know more about the game...

From the sideline, it appeared to be a forward lateral. As for Selby, I get the ball in his hands much more than they did. As JB mentioned, I might move him to the backfield and hand it to him as well as get it to him in the short passing game.

BGP members see more games across the state than the handful of people voting in the AP polls and many seem to have more knowledge of the game and the teams than the voters do. Too many voters go based solely on reputation. Some schools will get votes from an AP member on the opposite end of the state just because they really had some great teams back in the 70's. A better question would be to ask the AP voters what influence BGP has on them...

WOW.....:eek: Kentucky regulations call for ALL outdoor activity to stop once the HI exceeds 104. Activities may proceed with a HI over 100 so long as no protective equipment (such as helmets/pads) is required for play or can be safely removed for practice. I am amazed this game was allowed to happen...

If you got your info from the people I have heard saying that GC beat Ironton in last weeks scrimmage, you have been misled. Today a guy told me he heard it was 16-14 GC. I know it was 35-6 Ironton at the end of the third quarter. Somebody down on the west end of the county must be shoveling a truckload of fertilizer...
