Colonels_Wear_Blue
I've got a decent running list... Aug 23: Scott County vs. Great Crossing - The Warhawks with a huge program opener. Sep 6: Lex Cath at Cov Cath - Beau Allen vs. Michael Mayer Sep 20: St. Xavier at Bowling Green - X lost in overtime last year. Sep 20: Trinity at Male Sep 27: Trinity vs. St. Xavier - Can X make it two straight W's in a row? Oct 11: LaSalle (OH) at Cov Cath Oct 18: Cov Cath at Highlands
DevilMayCare
Raceland at Russell on August 31st - It's a big rivalry for both schools that's been dominated by the Rams for the past decade. For years it was the regular season finale for each team. Now it's been shifted to the front end of the schedule. Should be another close, competitive game. Highlands vs. Knoxville Catholic (TN) on August 31st - We could find out a lot about the Birds early on this season. The Fighting Irish's roster is littered with future FBS talent. A good showing would bode well for Highlands going forward. CAL at Boyle County on September 20th - Two of Kentucky's best clash for the first time ever. This game will feature four of the top prospects in the state with Reese Smith, Landen Bartleson, John Young, and Brandt Babin. Scott County at Frederick Douglass on September 27th - This burgeoning rivalry has gone from 0-100 in record time. After last year's regular season meeting, it appeared the Broncos had put themselves in position as the biggest threat to the Louisville big school trio in 6A. But Scott County recovered to end FD's unbeaten season in a second-round playoff rematch. There should be no shortage of buzz, and perhaps hostility, when Frederick Douglass hosts "the team from up north". Johnson Central at Belfry on November 1st - This game is a personal favorite of mine every year. If you're a fan of old school, physical football, it doesn't get any better than this. Both will be right in the middle of the chase for titles in their respective classes.
GOREDDEVILS
Russell/Raceland- Big Rival. August 31st Russell/Ashland- Big Rival. October 18th Russell/Greenup County- Big Rival. October 11th Russell/Mason County- Kind of interested to see if Mason County has improved any. August 23rd
FootballBobcat
Aug 23. South Oldham at CAL. Should be a good game to get the season going. South has a set of very good, seasoned skill players on both sides of the ball. This should tell us how good the line play is vs some pretty big boys over at CAL. Sept 20. Trinity at Male. One of the great high school games you can see.
Hardin County Preps
How about Trinity at Bowling Green the last week of the regular season?
LongTimeReader
I’m looking forward to the St. X/ Bowling Green game. I believe it’s the week before St. X takes on Trinity. But similar to last year, many story lines with this match-up, plus these games tend to be very competitive.
HT721
Whatever game I see first, I’m just ready to see the lights pop on. The worst games I’ve ever been to have still been pretty good.
TheDeuce
I'll likely be at a Trinity, X, or Male game every week of the year.
Getslow
Now that I'm up in this area full time, I'm hoping to take in a Cov Cath game this season. Hopefully one of the big ones.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
Now that I'm up in this area full time, I'm hoping to take in a Cov Cath game this season. Hopefully one of the big ones. Lex Cath and LaSalle will be the biggest home games for the 2019 season, and Beechwood may be a little less on the competitive side of things in recent years, but there's a lot of excitement around that game just because it's a traditional rivalry. Cov Cath vs. Highlands is obviously THE big one of the regular season. Beechwood & Highlands are both away games. The Beechwood game will be standing room only, and the Highlands game will likely sell out in pre-sale. I highly recommend checking out a football game at Highlands...great stadium for high school football. Covington Catholic - 2019 Schedule August 23: vs. Ryle August 30: at Campbell Co. September 6: vs. Lex Cath September 13: vs. Dixie September 20: at Beechwood September 27: vs. Cooper (District) October 4: vs. Boone (District) October 11: vs. LaSalle October 18: at Highlands (District) October 25: at Conner (District)
Randy Parker
Now that I'm up in this area full time, I'm hoping to take in a Cov Cath game this season. Hopefully one of the big ones. Note to self: No CovCath games this year.
Randy Parker
Sep 6: Lex Cath at Cov Cath - Beau Allen vs. Michael Mayer Sep 27: Trinity vs. St. Xavier - Can X make it two straight W's in a row? I don't follow High School football like most of you, but these are two that look good to me.
hubbman100
No one's mentioned Highlands at Boyle County.
Voice of Reason
Highlands vs Covington Catholic. Highlands came close to pulling the upset last year in the regular season. Can Highlands finally get back on the winning side against the Colonels this year? On paper it looks like their best chance in several years. The last Highlands win was in 2015.
