  1. Which team ends the 28 year drought? Why do you think so? How long until you think it happens?
  2. I've visited a few in the United Kingdom including Oxford and Cambridge, which I'll go ahead and disqualify for my own sake...just 'cause. For me, I don't know if I could put them in any certain order, but: University of Notre Dame Chicago University University of Virginia Miami University Tulane University
  3. Whether it's from a movie, TV show, book, comic book, etc. we all have those fictional characters that we want to see get theirs in the end. So which fictional character's death gave you the most satisfaction. Easy one for me. Colonel William Tavington from The Patriot.
  4. Just for fun, here. Let's see if we can come up with a first team and second team for all-time best players, by position. 7. Take a look into your crystal ball, read your tea leaves, translate your coffee grounds...whatever you've gotta do. We're now on the second year of the current football alignment, so with that being the case, what are your predictions on which teams make the semifinals for each class? How about the finals? Lets hear your predictions.
  8. Something fun to celebrate International Women's Day. What are some of your favorite songs sung by the fairer sex?
  9. Seems to me that the vast majority of folks tend to identify "their music" as the music that they listened to roundabout their days in high school. What were the 5 or 10 bands you would say you listened to the most during your high school years?
  10. I saw some of the foot ball helmet design threads from last season pop back up, so I figured I'd use them to get some discussion going about which helmets are the best designed helmets and best designed logos in the state. I figure we can track things for a few categories: 1) Best helmet design. 2) Best football helmet logo. 3) Best school logo (includes school logos not used on football helmets). Here are the previews from last season. Since they're a year old, they may not be 100% up-to-date: Kentucky High School Football Helmets: A- thru Be- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: Bi- thru Bu- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: C- thru Cr- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: D- thru E- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: F- thru G- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: H- thru I- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: J- thru L- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: M- thru Mu- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: N- thru Ow- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: P- thru Pu- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: R- thru Som- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: Sou- thru U- Kentucky High School Football Helmets: V- thru Z-
  11. I'm going to list 10 & then a category for "Other" if yours isn't listed. Butterfinger for me.
  12. For me, it's probably black pudding. I've had a handful of types of blood sausage and wasn't 100% disgusted, but the "black pudding" variant I tried in the UK was downright revolting.
  13. Yes/No? Is it indoor, outdoor? Hanging on a wall? Flying on an in-ground pole or wall-mounted pole? Which flag do you fly?

  15. I've got a trick shoulder from an injury in my high school football days. Back in college, the office I worked in had 4 enormous pine trees right outside the back door. One of the pine cones managed to make its way in through the back door one afternoon, and I picked it up and carried it out with me as I left after work...chucked it overhand into the grassy area by the parking lot, and bam...shoulder came out of socket. Usually I could get it back in on my own, but I couldn't that time. Had to go to the hospital and have it put back into socket.
  16. There are a few for me. I grew up in Ft. Mitchell, and I'm on record here saying that I cheer for Beechwood basically any time they're not playing Cov Cath. I tend to cheer for the smaller schools from NKY as well...Ludlow and New Cath in particular. I'd say Boone County is another NKY program I cheer for. Outside of NKY...Ashland, Somerset, Manual and LaRue County are the teams I like to root for the most. I also like to follow the action when a Kentucky school plays an out of state program, and I always, ALWAYS root for the Kentucky team to win.
  17. First one that comes to mind for me is "Warning: Can be easily sidetracked while talking."
  18. I would probably most like to see All Quiet on the Western Front re-booted. The book was originally made into a film in 1930, and was produced very well considering the time period. Then it was re-done as a made for TV movie in the late 70s. I would like to see it done using modern day writing style and effects.
  19. I can honestly say that I've not ever had an experience that was bad enough to make me not ever go to a restaurant again (although there are some restaurants that I just plain don't care for). My grandpa had one that always made me laugh though...he refused to go to Walt's Hitching Post until after owner Billy Melton died. "He's a damn card cheat and I'm not giving that horse's rear a single penny of mine."
