15th Region
Pendleton County star and UK Signee Dontaie Allen is off to fast start scoring this season with back-to-back 50 plus points games. This made me wonder where he was with respect to the all-time scoring list in KHSAA boys basketball history. Allen has averaged double figures every year since his 8th grade season and scored over 1,000 points last season alone. Counting his two contest this season, Allen currently has 2,802 career points (per khsaa website). The all-time record is held by Wayland's "King" Kelly Coleman at 4,337 points. If Allen plays 28 more regular season games and one guaranteed post season game (29 total), maintaining his current average of 53.5, he will score 1,551 points this season. Add that to his career total and he will have 4,353 career points. My question for BGP is two fold: 1. It is reasonable to think Dontaie Allen can maintain his current scoring average and break Coleman's scoring record? -if not 2. Its is reasonable to think Allen can average 41.3 ppg this season and become only the second player in khsaa history to score 4,000 career points? Wireman
I'll be surprised if he averages 53.5 points per game this season.
One Great Scorer
I don’t he will break the Kings record. That would be crazy to average 53 points a game! I think he could break 4,000 though.
Randy Parker
Outside shot at 4,000, depending on staying injury free. Obviously, the more postseason wins, the better.
ChickenWyngz
When you look at some of the games on Pendleton's schedule (no knock on them at all, they are a smaller school) and consider the talent around him, you have to think he could flirt with that 40 ppg number. He will have another 50 point game or two and if he is not averaging 20+ attempts a game then PC is running things wrong. With that many attempts and the sheer talent he possesses, a number around 40 per game is not out of the question.
BCHS-BLUEBIRD
Has a kid ever averaged 50 points a game for a season? That's a crazy number.

TheDeuce
Both are very unlikely, IMO.
Randy Parker
Chris Harrison was probably the most prolific scorer I ever watched. Does anyone know what was his highest points per game average in a single season?

Randy Parker
53.7 Ervin Stepp (Phelps) 1979-80 I knew Stepp was something else, but I was specifically looking for Harrison's highest points per game average? Do you know that?

Sorry, misread that as you wanting the highest average per game ever.

HSBballfan24
I like Allen but don't see him breaking the record. Williamstown is very weak and Scott isn't known for their incredibly good defense.
