Wow it seems like this football season just started yesterday and here we are at the last game of the regular season. After this week is when the real season starts and it's win or go home. But before that, the 1A Game of the Week features two top ten dark horses, Paris and Ludlow, who hope they can surprise some teams in the playoffs.

These two teams come with an impressive 8-1 record so one of these two teams is going to be 8-2 before the playoff start. Paris has put big numbers up on the season averaging 38 points a game and only giving up 10 points per game. Ludlow is averaging 42 points a game and giving up 26 points a game. These teams look close on the scoring side of things but the defense is a little lopsided. Perhaps that's because Ludlow has played a little tougher schedule than Paris?

Ludlow is lead by Quarterback Justin Blackburn who has thrown for over 850 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is also the leading rusher on the team with an impressive 1,515 yards and 25 touchdowns. Sean Stratton is 2nd on the team in rushing with 783 yards and 6 touchdowns. Justin Blackburn has three solid receivers in Trey Donahue, Ian Vallandingham and Max Hathaway. These 3 have accounted for over 730 yards of the 850 Blackburn has thrown for. Cody Brownfield, Justin Blackburn and Dakota Moore are the leaders on the defense tallying up 146 tackles on the season. The defense has also tallied 14 interceptions and 8 fumble recoveries.

Paris is lead by Quarterback Aaron Maggard who has thrown for over 900 yards and 8 touchdowns. In Maggard's absence, the back up quarterback Caedon Vanhoose has thrown for 240 yards on 12-18 passes and 6 touchdowns. It pays to have a solid backup. The Paris Greyhounds have 5 receivers over 100 yards on the season but the big play guy, Eric Johnson, has accounted for almost 600 yards and 5 touchdowns. Marcus Ashford, Jamaun Clark, Will Cox and Caden Vanhoose have accounted for almost 500 yards and 7 touchdowns. Paris has rushed for over 2,000 yards on the season and Matthew Barber accounts for most of it. Matthew Barber has put up 960 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has accounted for almost half of the rushing yards on the team. Will Cox and Jackson Livingood are the leading tacklers on the team tallying up 130 tackles on the season. The Greyhounds' defense has also tallied 8 interceptions and 6 fumble recoveries on the season.

Who wins this regular season ending 1A Game of the Week? Will Ludlow add another solid team to its win list resume? Can Paris get a signature win over a 1A Top 10 team?

Sounds like bothe teams have multiple weapons to rely on. Big anticipation for this game. A lot of explosive plays will happen in this game. Probably come down to turnovers and untimely penalties. Will be popping echoing off the cliffs at Blanton Collier Stadium.

I agree with everything and great job breaking it down but when it comes to strength of schedule, I really don't see much of a difference. Beechwood, which Ludlow had to play because of them being in their district, makes the Panthers' schedule tougher but after that, there's really no difference. The teams played three common opponents in Carroll County, Bracken County and Bishop Brossart. Had Paris played Ludlow's schedule, then they too would've been 8-1!

Although common opponents doesn't matter, because the game are won on the field, people do like to take a look at it!

Ludlow beat Carroll County 56-39, Paris won 55-21

Ludlow beat Brossart 54-27, Paris won 62-14

Ludlow beat Bracken County 27-24, Paris won 34-14

Just my opinion!:isurrender:

It seems like Paris scores more and gives up less points. So Paris should win this game.

I will also add Ludlow beat Williamsburg as well.

The game is won on the field ... that's why they play them ... again, Paris would've been 8-1 had they played Ludlow's schedule!

Hoping the hounds can play up to potential friday. If we're clicking on all cylinders I think this could be a statement going into a bye before Raceland. I respect Ludlow if that front of theirs can hold up Blackman can have a big night. Can't see them containing us on the other side we have to many weapons and they give up to many points. Blanton collier will be rocking Friday hope to see you there.

Paris 52

Ludlow 20
