Coffee Mugs - Help Me Resolve A Debate

So...clear glass coffee mugs. Are they okay, not okay, or does it even make a difference?

The only purpose clear coffee mugs serve are to serve coffee drinks. Not coffee, but Irish Coffee, coffee & Frangelico, Coffee and Kaluah, Coffee and... (insert liquor here).

I've never seen one, but I see people drinking coffee out of a clear Tervis all the time.

I have these and they are great. Clear glass ones...not a fan.

Can't drink milk out of Styrofoam

don't like coffee in glass

I wouldn't buy them myself, but what is the negative side to them that would have anyone concerned one way or the other? Heat retention issues? Propensity for breaking? Is it just aesthetics?

I have no real reason for disliking them except for....I just don't like them.

I use a Contigo mug that would double as a weapon in a pinch. I'm not even sure I know what the hell a clear glass coffee mug is. Is it just a normal glass that some heathen poured coffee into?
