Sounds like the Lil Colonels are in for a good year. It's nice to win your games, but it's nicer to be able to show progress to the next level. How much does the 7th and 8th grade teams have to do with this?

Got a feeling this game is closer than what people are saying. Don't get me wrong, I know HHS will win. Probably around 34 to 7.

From everything I have read, T is down a bit this year and I think Manual is hungry for that first win. If T's QB is out, then I see Manual. I've been wrong before that's for sure.

Haven't seen this Towels kid play but I have seen McCoy over the years and let me tell you this, the young QB did an outstanding job last night. I would think he only gets better along with the rest of the Freshman. Now lets get ready for Boone and get that first win!

There is no way CovCath scores enough for the win. Lexcath can win this with 2 TD's IMO. Just watched the replay from Friday of the Ryle/Covcath game and Covcath struggled big time on offense. I would have to say LexCath is quicker than Ryle so there aint no catching them. I will go LexCath 42-CovCath 7

WOW!!! 50 points. I will say this, I watched the replay of the Ryle/Covcath game from Friday and I don't see how either of these two teams beat Highland. Ryle seems to have a better chance because of better players but still don't see it happening. Covcath is in for another long season. Sorry boys from Park Hills. I think I will go with Highland 27 Ryle 7 :sssh:

Wow!!! That's one heck of a Booster Association. No wonder they have the best of everything. Oh except a 2009 State Championship in Basketball. These boys do deserve a ring. Thing is, they need to pay for it themselves or raise the money. I have had to pay out over $1300 for two rings the past two years. But I did because I thought my kid deserved it. Interesting!!! Why wouldn't he follow in his brothers footsteps and go to CovCath? Did he not play for the "Kentucky Kids" in summer ball? What year will he be?

What if and it's a big "what if" Ray came back and didn't succeed. In succeed I mean being a 9-1 or 8-2 team with 2 or 3 playoff wins and back in the championship game within three years. Everybody knows next year will only be better because they are not playing the schedule they played the last two years. So that is by default. I not so sure that the last two years records would have been any different with Ray at the helm. Maybe not the extreme blow outs, but probably same record. There is no way Ray comes back to possibly failure. Why mess up a legacy that he built over the years. Ain't happenin!

Very smart move on his part. Why would he come back to KY and start over on his teacher tenure. And if he went to CCH, it would be at day 1. I think he already has 14 years in Ohio. So again smart move. And for other reasons too.

Heard they had a nice showing for interested players wanting to try out. And yes, there will be plenty to try out and be able to make cuts. Another good sign of the program going in the right direction. :thumb:

Past I assume you mean over the last few years. I guess 14 or 15. Actually as of this school year, the baseball team has been working out on Tues./Thurs. since the beginning of school or very close to it. So again I would assume that the new coaching staff figured that since they have been doing it for a few months now that it would continue. Actually it's nice to see the new staff put in place something that was needed in the off season and that is a workout program. It could only help. I too am glad everything was worked out but I will leave it at that as to how and why. Things are changing my friend and it's a good thing. We all know what's "king" at Highlands and I'm on board. I promise you that. Just this sports fan likes to see Baseball get it's turn and it's turn is now. You get the feeling there might be a little bit of pressure on the new staff this upcoming season to succeed. Good thing is, they got the right guy in trying to do it and the support of the school and community. And you know he's loving it. GO BATBIRDS!!!

You're right. He will be fine in all aspects because of his will to work his but off and some extra off season training. And because he is that good. I'm not so sure he shouldn't have been starting all along. He definitely has the ability.

Yeah, but how many heady QBs with a good heart moves on to the next level and plays that position. I'd venture to say the braun and "so called" skills wins out on the next level. Not many small (6') or so QBs at the the D1 or pro level. Oh and I respect your opinion. Mines just different.

Just got word that the Baseball team's Tues./Thurs. workout and conditioning program just took a hit. They lost the weight room to the 8th grade "60 minute Club". That is an after school weight conditioning club for future footb... UUUUHHH "athletes". Yeah that's it. I'm guessing that since they lost Tues/Thurs, they will lift on Mon/Wed/Fri. I'm sure the coach will take this matter up with the schools AD. It's not right that a Varsity sport looses a spot to a Middle School "after school program". Now you see the obstacles that Baseball faces. And please fellow Bird posters, don't get on here and stick up for the other program. If you have any school pride and commitment to excellence at all for all, then voice your concerns to the AD like I am. This is out of control!!!!:madman:
