Is everybody healthy right now for both teams? I know the season is early but there might be some carry over injuries from football or maybe neither has football players playing. What about CovCath? They have played some big and physical competition. Anything happening there?

I sit in the area of the Student section. Yes there are those that dress up and paint their bodies and go crazy. That is awesome. It just doesn't happen week in and week out. The Education Foundation area, yes there are several people over there but no more than 100. I don't know, maybe it's just me that I want everyone to be at the games going crazy and nuts over the team. I just got a little upset when Jr said kids aren't going because it might be too cold. Same way with the adults in town. There will be some that don't go because of it being too cold. C'mon! With decorating up the town, helping at school with field projects, getting Buses together for trips - Same people over and over, and thanks goodness those people are there to lend their time and support. This wasn't and isn't a bash on the people of Ft. Thomas and the school. It's just a concern on where the people(numbers) are that used to go to games. Glad to see all's well with some.

Forgot one other thing. Jr came home today and I asked him what everyone was saying about the game on Friday. He tells me that some are not going because it's going to be too cold. They were hoping that it would be on TV. Probably the same kids that do nothing but play Playstation. X Box, Wii, and whatever else they do inside instead of going outside like back in the good ole days.

Was wondering how everyone felt about their teams support from their community, school adminstrators, and student body. Well here goes. Being a life long fan and supporter of Highlands High School, I will say I am a little dissapointed with the overall support from it's fan base. I think that they do get a pretty good base of support, but it's the same people over and over. With HHS winning as much as they do, people tend to get bored with it. The student body is sometimes there in full support, but only for big games. Community same way. Case in point. HHS plays CovCath on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Was it a packed house? Not even close. Why not? What else is there to do in Ft. Thomas? Yes the Santa House was going on at Moyer but the people that went to that would not normally go games anyway. So where is everyone? Last Friday, pathetic home crowd. I know, I know, families have a lot more to do these days. But c'mon, it's playoff time and HHS is marching their way towards a 17th State Championship. What ever happened to the Bon fires, Pep Rallys, Parades around town? It's too bad but I guess times have changed. I know one person that will always be there supporting their team. How about everyone else?

No way, no how LC scores 35 points on HHS. They have only scored 35 four times this year on lesser opponents. Just don't see it happening.

Hopefully people didn't take my earlier post the wrong way. I am one of the biggest supoorters of the Cannon. It sends chills when it goes off. You have to be a former player to grasp the true feeling. It is a part of HHS football and other teams and fans do hate it. Why would you like it if you are the opposing team. When it goes off, it means welcome to HHS and by the way, "we just scored" on you. But by no means is it the 12th man. Highlands doesn't need a 12th man. That might be arrogant but whatever! Last I looked all those away game wins, no Cannon. We used to take it to State and to a few exception away games but not any more. I for one will forever love the Cannon! Long live the Cannon!!!

Are you serious? Does the rest of the state give HHS points for there Cannon? Man our secret is out. Now everybody is going to get one. No more Championships in Fort Thomas.

There you go. HHS, Trinity, X, Beechwood, NewCath, CovCath, Bowling Green, .... all get easy games sent there way. That's the way it's set up for the big boys to not have to play anyone too tough to win State.:laugh:

There lies the problem with the extra classes. I just looked at the brackets and couldn't believe how many 0-10 teams there were and also 1-9 teams. How embarrassing for the team and the KHSAA. Why don't they just let everyone in if the KHSAA is going to "water" down the tournament with the extra classes and teams. What a joke. They should eliminate the first round game and just let in the #1 and 2 teams. Oh well. I guess I should have gone into the trophy and ribbon making business a few years ago. Man I would be rich right now!

Can I change my vote on who wins? I think the Colonels might be able to pull off the upset. I used to love watching Billy Jack as a kid.

This has got to be the greatest build up of a Freshman game ever! Heck there are only a few Varsity games that get this much attention! The two best battling out. Watch out!

How much time in Varsity games does it take to determine players to be "Div. 1" prospects? I see people naming names of kids that are D1 prospects. Have any of these kids been contacted yet or info sent to them telling them this? I hope for these kids sake that they are because they will help their respective teams tremendously and be able to continue their futures on the next level. In two years NKY should have an absolute boat load of talent coming out. I will agree with a couple of kids named on here, but the Jury is out on some others. A little early to say D1 just yet IMO.

Even saw a couple "dogs" on the field. The boy is still scraping his shoes.:irked:

Nope! That was wondered aloud also by a few of the Bluebird faithful also. In the second half we were saying the same thing. What a great time to work on the passing game. Someone said that if HHS did that, it might be viewed as running up the score. But then again Madison Central couldn't stop the run up the middle which in turn HHS kept doing over and over so maybe that might be viewed as running up the score! What would you think? If HHS started to throw the ball the second half after the game was in hand instead of run, run, run, which they were very successful at, would that be alright? I agree, HHS should of definately of been working on the passing game. Oh well, what do we know! Nothing!!!

That's what I heard about HHS. Oops, I meant physical. Either way they will get it done.
