nWo Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Highlands took control of the game in the third quarter by scoring 28 unanswered points.
Birdsfan Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Wow! Good job Birds! What was the halftime score?
Bluesport Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Wow! Good job Birds! What was the halftime score? I believe 10-0.
Run To State Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 And the Bird machine rolls on. Congrats Birds! :dancingpa
Son of Bear Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Halftime score was 10-0 with the first half having some big hits. Birds opened the second half with a scoring drive....Indians went for it on a 4th down the next series and didn't get it...that was a BIG swing as Highlands scored 28 points in the 3rd. Highlands defense looked really good, they are so athletic and swarm to the ball. Central couldn't get much of a passing going because they couldn't protect Hope or Coldiron. MC was 1/12 on 3rd downs. Birds wore out the counter-tray in the 3rd quarter and basically smash-mouthed the ball down the field the entire quarter. Cecil is also VERY impressive running the ball...but I can't recall seeing the jet run one time like we saw a lot of last year with Kramer. Good luck to the Birds the rest of the season.....you all have classy fans and players, and a great head coach.
leatherneck Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Birds played sm football. Runners ran hard and O line blocked well. Defense played graet. MC folks were great and classy: nice pragram. Good luck the rest of the way. More when I get back.
WhoozYoDaddy Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 MC had some very athletic players on both sides of the ball! The field was in great shape. The band was excellent! Nice win for the Birds! Looking good heading into the final week of regular season!
Freebird23 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 MC quarterback going to Air Force Academey? I thought I heard that during his bio before the game during Senior night activities. He was impressive - just didn't get the time to set up and throw the ball... I will say this... MC sure can hit. Number 5 especially. He really packs a punch into his small frame. Good luck in the weeks ahead! :thumb: The band was the best I've seen in years! Perhaps the last time we visited Madison Central! However, the sound system sounded like the one we had for years at HHS. Hopefully, you didn't buy the old one from HHS. I agree, very classy and friendly folks at MC. The gentlemen who greeted the buses could not have been any nicer.

I concur (do ya' believe that?) with the "Streaker"...and wish to add that MC's pre-game choir that sung the Nat'l Anthem needed to be miked. From what could hear, they sounded great...wish I really could have heard them. The "ghouls" that danced at halftime also did a great job...especially the "Thriller"/graveyard theme this close to Halloween! Their football team gave us the kind of hard-fought, different looks type of game that the Birds needed to have. How 'bout that kicker foor HHS? Knockin' down tough field goals from 31 and 39 yards...and just missing one with a minute left from about 50 yds into a wicked wind. For those that don't think Drew Bathiany is the best kicker in the state...well, they just ain't payin' attention! Good job Bird's!!
cshs81 Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 So is only a CCH fan that is concerned that HHS doesn't seem to be working on their passing game?
BlueBoy Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 So is only a CCH fan that is concerned that HHS doesn't seem to be working on their passing game? Nope! That was wondered aloud also by a few of the Bluebird faithful also. In the second half we were saying the same thing. What a great time to work on the passing game. Someone said that if HHS did that, it might be viewed as running up the score. But then again Madison Central couldn't stop the run up the middle which in turn HHS kept doing over and over so maybe that might be viewed as running up the score! What would you think? If HHS started to throw the ball the second half after the game was in hand instead of run, run, run, which they were very successful at, would that be alright? I agree, HHS should of definately of been working on the passing game. Oh well, what do we know! Nothing!!!
tdyballgame Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 What is Madison Central's field called? They look like they have very nice facilities. Field looked to be in very good shape for all the rain we got. Or did they not get the rain down there?
