  1. Congratulations Morgan County, this was a big win. East Carter is having a rough first half of the season, I thought they were the pre-season number 2 team in the 16th. Seems like everyone has been beating them. They better get it together by the end of the season or they will be watching from the sidelines when the rest of the 16th is battling to make it to Rupp Arena.
  2. Ryle is struggling right now. Did Russell only start the first three games of the season? Because that's the only three games he scored in double digits. Actually those were three of the tougher games that Ryle has played so far this season. Since then he's only averaged a little over 4 points a game. Could it be the type of offense the team is running causing the inability to score?
  3. No, Wireman picks Elliott...and they aren't even playing them!:D JK Holmes wins this one big, starters get to sit a lot and bench will play most of the second half.
  4. Boone takes the Highlands loss out on Campbell tonight. Boone by 15
  5. Tates Creek has two very good sophomores, Barksdale and Fucci.
  6. Not sure they will, they lost to Madison Central on January 10, 2009 and they did not drop in the BGR poll that came out January 16, 2009?????????????? However, I agree, they should drop with two losses in one week.
  7. ???The box score says R. Johnson had... 4 baskets 3 free throws 13 points Rebounds or assists are not in the box score. Not trying to be smart, just confused to what you are asking.
  8. So if the BGP poll is the only poll that counts, that means Elliott Co. #5 beat Anderson Co. #17. You said it not me!
  9. There are a couple of kids that don't get much hype on Trinity's team that are invaluable to their success. Little and Corbett. Little does a lot of the little things that help the team, plays good defense, rebounds and has the ability to score by taking it to the rim. Corbett plays sound defense and takes care of the ball. You can tell his first priority is to create offense for the team, and he does a great job at that. He will ocassionally shoot when open and when he does it's usually "hitting bottom". I don't understand why he isn't starting at PG; when he's on the floor the TEAM plays better.
  10. The Flannery's old residence was in the northern tip of Boone Co. Dad's daily commute was anywhere from 4-5 hours a day. He also consults with school districts all over the state of KY. I know this because he was in our district in SE KY last week. This move to central KY cut his daily drive by two hours a day. What the paper left out was that the move was also due to personal health reasons. They moved to the northern most exit on I-75 in Georgetown, which would allow mom to drive to Florence in 40 minutes. It was taking her 20 minutes from their old residence to get to the schools she worked at when they lived in Boone. End result mom added 40 minutes to her drive, dad cut 120 minutes off his daily drive. I don't think gas had anything to do with the move, just decreasing dad's daily commute. Good luck to Austin he is a very good young man:thumb:
  11. One reason all the top players don't play together is because some teams pay to participate and some teams pay for everything. The second reason this doesn't happen is becouse if you get too many kids that think they are superstars then they all want to be on the floor. Problem is, only 5 can play at a time.
  12. The KY Patriots go 8-1 in the 16U Division 1 AAU National tournament with 145 teams in it, and bring home the Bronze after beating Florida Elite by 13. Third in the nation is not too bad for a bunch of boys from KY. Congratulations!
  13. Congratulations to the Shining Stars organization, especially the 16U team! Winning the state championship being short handed is quite an accomplishment. Congrats to Coach McFarland also.:thumb:
  14. Watched this team last year and what they have coming back, (Sewell, Little, Corbett, Eply and the freshman post player) if the coach lets them run and push the ball instead of going into a half court set evertime; this team could be a top contender in the 7th. Sewell has the ability to take it to the rim or post up strong, Little is a great athlete, and Corbett can get the ball up the court and sees the floor very well.
  15. But Raceland will not beat Elliott on any night if Elliott plays their regular starting five; even if they aren't hitting, their defense is good enough to beat Raceland. Raceland just does not have the horses needed to beat a team like Elliott.
  16. I believe they are 0 for 3, they've lost to Conner, NCC & Cov. Cath.
  17. After scoring 30 points against an above average team in Northern KY, 2nd place in the 16th must be at least 100 miles behind Elliott!
  18. I would have to go with Gallatin Co. They have a very good, hard playing team. Next would be Walton Verona, but they don't have the physical players to beat Gallatin Co. Good luck to all the teams, may the best make it to Richmond!
  19. I'll take Elliott by 12, they have too many offensive options.
  20. Rose Hill picks up the tempo and presses most of the game. Rose Hill wins big, 78 - 54 The big two are harder to guard in transition.
  21. I don't know what kind of person it takes to constantly ridicule 16 year old boys. Euton and Jackson are both upstanding young men that just want to play basketball. I don't believe they have done anything to certain posters (you know who you are) personally that would cause them to be so concerned about their individual performance. I see plenty of other kids that don't have good games but no one posts how many shots they missed, turnovers, assists or rebounds like some do for these two boys! It must be jealousy, because I can't think of any other reason anyone would constantly "brow-beat" these two boys. What is being said by Rose Hill supporters or anyone else is their opinion. They are proud of their team and their players. There are PLENTY of other parents and fans that hype up their team and talk about how good their players are. Think about this...how would you like for your son to get on this site and see some of the things that some of you are saying? If these were professional adult basketball players getting paid millions of dollars to play the game, I could see fans being critical of their performance. They are getting paid to do a job. These two boys just love to play the game, they've put the effort and time in to get to where they are in their game. Bad basketball players don't get offers or attention from college coaches. If they are good enough by the time they are seniors (which I and many others think they will be), they will go on and play at the level the college coaches think they can. Be happy for the boys, they did not do anything to you!:madman:
