Saw Seth the other day. I'm 6'2" and 250 and I'm looking up at him feeling small. It's amazing how big he's gotten. I can't wait to be part of "The 82 Crew" this year. There will be tee shirts.

Kevin will bring intensity and intelligence to this program and to the classroom. He was hired because he was the complete package, teacher/coach. All the attention whether it be negative/positive, we're all talking about HHS basketball right now. I think Hunt was good with the kids but was better working to develop the younger players. Hunt is not a teacher. When you can hire a teacher that is a coach, you are making an investment, not only in your academics but in your future. It tells kids, "this guy was willing to change his career to come here and teach." Not only teach, but coach at the same school the he was so hated while on the very court he will call home for the years to come. I think he is brave. I went to NKU with him and had classes with him. He is well spoken and a great student of the game. I wish him nothing but luck and he has even inspired me to come to some games this year.

I have two nine year olds that are crushed to know that Newport has discontinued its ponytail slow pitch league. I was hoping to keep them interested by finding a fast-pitch feeder team near Fort Thomas. Anyone out there have ideas?

Not a lot of home games this year. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and walking back to watch some home games.

I was joking that "he" was going to wrap his red RV. I think that thing is awesome. I love pulling into work in Cincy with my H License plate and all the Elder boys get all worked up. That H3 might create a riot. I even get flack from my softball team about that plate since they are all Camels and Stangs. You should take that to the Touch A Truck up at the fort. I know kids would love it. I think a lot of dads would too...

Wait till I put the new wrapper on my giant red RV! It'll be way louder than this! I think it's sweet. Like many on here, if we had the money, we would too. So will this be pulling a trailer or is it soloTB?

After seeing his determination and tenacity as an 8th grader, I knew he wouldn't just disappear. I am excited to see what he can do this year. I can't remember how long it's been since I was this excited for the next season to start in March already. Oh wait, it was last year. But still, the uncertainty and potential discussed just makes it tougher to wait. I have already drank the Kool-Aid to become a member of "The 82 Crew." Hopefully he stays healthy and hungry.

G & P, number one reason why I didn't wrestle and why many folks don't: honeymooner move, enough said. After your explanation of that, I now know why wrestling isn't for everyone.

You'd be surprised. Since they wrestle the boys, it's quite intimidating for boys. A lot of them refuse to get on mat with a girl.

IMHO, wrestling will never take off at HHS. If they are serious, they should start in middle school only and work those kids up to high school. Who knows, it may be a good option for some middle schoolers?

Seth Hope is going to be the most dominant DE in NKY this coming year. The "82 Crew" will be there to support his journey. Should be a fun year for him and his family.

Listening to some of these people (probably parents of kids that have played baseball all the way through) talk about discouraging kids to try out that haven't played in a while seems really selfish. I understand you may feel its your kid's turn to play and now a JC or some other kid swoops in their senior year to "steal" their spot away from them. Healthy competition means the best team being put on the field this spring. While I see that you want your son to have his day in the sun, don't you want the team to put the best players out there? I commend JB and JR for what they have done with these kids. I just hope they are there for my boy to learn from. I'm also very excited to hear about all these kids trying out for baseball. Can't wait to walk down with my boy to catch some games this year.

I don't know about the oldest, but Highlands has to be the worst. Lack of space, air, or seats keeps me from attending games regularly. Last game I was at was against Cov Cath and the floor was wet because of how packed and hot the gym was with sweaty people. It was terrible. I hope that's coming up soon on the phases of remodeling. In my opinion it is more in need of replacement the the money they sank into that Performing Arts Center. But I don't appreciate art nearly as much as sports.

Believe in Steve! That should be a tee shirt. After all, he's modeling CCHS after the greatest football program in state history!

Is it just me, or has Stoops flat-out beat the last several coaches in his recruiting of good NKY players and Louisville area players to come to UK? Sure seems like he is snatching up all he can of the local talent.

Those that have second thoughts weren't going to school with an ACT score of 34 and studying bioengineering. I think he'll be just fine with his Al Bundy-Polk High, 4 touchdowns in one game stories to tell his kids. This is the sign of an intelligent, and mature kid. Plus, Obama is going to outlaw college and NFL football soon.

I love to see this. Not only for Seth who is a great kid, but for the community, area, and state of Kentucky. This visit provides validity to the argument that NKY does have talent worth checking out. I bet Dale was ear to ear grinning the entire time they were here. I remember when Huggins came to highlands when I was in high school. He ate in the cafeteria. I thought that was really cool that he sat in there with everyone else and just ate like one of the students/teachers.

Jake Donelan has my vote. He is pretty good.

That was the family we would see at church growing up that made the 6 kid family of mine small at the time. They have a ton of kids and all of them are great people. I'd love to see Donnelly stay healthy is year and have a great year...

They always seem to pull it together. I'm not worried about them. They will have some kids step up and you'll see the same brand of tough hard nosed smash-mouth football that we're accustomed to with the Breds. I'd just like to think they'll make a decision soon so they will have some motivation and direction in the winter conditioning...

Good! I'd put Hoge, Daugherty into empty spots. They could really add some pop and speed to the d-backfield.

Anyone notice a certain Red Dog mentioned with the coaches when he was at Lloyd? What a great guy! Miss him.
