My problem with this all-state list is there weren't enough kids from northern Kentucky on it! :lol: Just kidding Highlands posters!

I beleive it would be the 1978 playing season, That would have been Stephan Turner's senior football season. Of course he then graduated the spring of 1979.

That has to be incorrect or a falsified document. It's easy to tell. Highlands, Newport, NCC and Lloyd...none of them are in 3A!

I am...was just playing dumb and making a crack at the classifications that seem to be a hot topic these days. We didn't seem to care as much back then for some reason. It was more about just play whoever shows up!

Anybody notice how the offensive all state team has 3 backs and 2 TE's? And the defensive side is set up for a 6 man front (Guards, Tackles and Ends) and only 2 LB's?

 

Talk about a difference from today (for some). Well, come to think of it, I don't know ANYBODY that bases out of a 6 man front anymore due to the 'World of Spread'.

I was just getting ready to make the exact same comment Harry - especially the defensive line up. I would have guessed 1979 and been off by a year.

 

As RCC9 pointed out, the other interesting note is how demographics have changed. AAA in those days aligns somewhat with 5A today. How many of those teams listed are 5A today?
