I've heard that the two transfers from Western have been declared eligible for Trinity, so that will make the Colts' job a little tougher.

I would think that the UL athletic department and YUM Center are taking financial hits. I did not go to this game but when the camera panned the crowd, it looked like 5-6,000 fans, despite the news article I read saying it was 10,000+.

I think this game will be more of an arm wrestle then a track meet. To me, CCH certainly has the bona fides to be in the championship game and could very well upend the Rebels.

If I'm not mistaken they beat Trinity and St. X on successive weekends (not sure of the order). I don't know who they beat before that. GRC had two great backs and ran the wing T to perfection.

ESPN is ranking Sacred Heart 9th in the nation.

I was impressed with Bryan Station's QB the first time they played.....was elusive and had a very good arm. I hope Trinity's defense can carry the day for one more game. This year's T team seems more like a Coach Dennis Lampley team than a Bob Beatty team.

As a Trinity fan, I feel fortunate to have won the game. From about mid-second quarter to the end of regulation, I thought FD was the better team. Trinity's home side stands were as packed as I can ever remember.

Hope UL would make run at Shaka Smart.

That was a heck a tournament with Purdue, Tennessee, Kansas and Marquette. Kudos to whoever lined up these teams.

Serious question: How good are these 7-footers supposed to be? In addition to height, what else do they bring? I hope they are all great.

What about the young man I'm hearing so much about in the Tilghman-CovCath thread - Martels Carter? Do you feel like he may be deserving of Mr. Football? I really don't know much about him, but he must be something else.

Very nice write-up, Rock. I agree with you on Sansbury being the MVP. I read where he put on 16 pounds over the off-season and is now 196 pounds. He is a hard, tough runner. The QB has improved a lot over the course of the season. I've always thought that McEnenany doesn't get the acclaim he deserves. I believe he is a 3-year starter. In the first game with FD, I was impressed with their defense and the way they swarmed to the ball. They have great players all over the field. The days of weak Lexington 6A football are behind us, as evidenced by Trinity's 1-2 record in their most recent games against Bryan Station and FD, and BS and FD being in the final 4. I expect a 48-minute game played at a high level, with line play and turnovers probably being the deciding factors.

I quickly read the first part of this post and I thought he was talking about the final score.

All credit to KCD forthe improvement they have made over the past 5 years or so, but right now I believe Raceland is too battle-tested, both in the regular season and play-offs, and they come out with the win.

Yeah, they were great. With some of their phrasing, they brought back memories of the old Leonard's Losers radio show.

I was impressed with FD's defense when they beat Trinity 3 months ago. Can FD keep WR Max Gainey under wraps? He is a big-play machine. FD may have the speed to do it. I think that will be a big factor in this game.
