Also, if I remember correctly, he was not initially found to be eligible and therefore had to sit out his entire junior year at Trinity. That absence had to have hurt his recognition factor among the Mr. Football voters.......not saying it caused him to lose the award but certainly didn't help, either.

Plummer had me audibly cursing at the TV last night. I think the injury to Thrash hurt UL more than a lot of people realize. UL's play, I thought, dropped off a little in the last third of the season. I hope Brohm can get what he needs from the portal (will need NIL money) and from the high school recruits. He showed IMO a tendency to recruit Kentucky players while at Purdue, and I hope he continues that trend.

In some years I think Trinity's demanding early season schedule did not necessarily helped the team's development as it just overwhelmed the players. However, I believe it did help this year especially with regard to the freshman QB. It's almost unbelievable that Trinity started a 15 year old QB and won the state with him. I never thought I would see that at Trinity. I have to give the staff a lot of credit for the way they brought him along. Having a bunch of seniors helped, too..
