Trinity (11-3) will play in the Class 6A State Championship after defeating Frederick Douglass 14-7 in overtime. Bryan Station (11-3) will play in the Class 6A State Championship after defeating Ballard 24-21.

Trinity beat Bryan Station 36-3 in the 1st game of the season.

Trinity's last championship appearance was in 2020.

Bryan Station's last championship appearance was in 1999.

Road to the championship:

Trinity 52 Meade County 14

Trinity 38 Saint Xavier 14

Trinity 45 McCracken County 0

Trinity 14 Frederick Douglass 7

Bryan Station 43 Lafayette 0

Bryan Station 43 Tates Creek 10

Bryan Station 49 Ryle 12

Bryan Station 24 Ballard 21

Trinity used a dominant defense to hold Frederick Douglass to 7 points along with great play by QB Zane Johnson who threw  two touchdown passes to get the win. The recipients of those touchdown passes were WR Jeremiah Lynn and TE Jacob Castelluzzo.  Bryan Station was down to Ballard 14-3 at halftime but rallied in the second half behind the play of QB Trenton Cutwright who rushed for a touchdown and passed for a touchdown. RB Kalen Washington also had a rushing TD while WR JT Haskins had touchdown reception.

Bryan Station will have to make up a lot of ground from the first meeting to beat Trinity whose defense has dominated the playoffs and held Bryan Station to a FG in the first matchup. Can Bryan Station pull the upset or does Trinity capture their 28th state championship?

I was impressed with Bryan Station's QB  the first time they played.....was elusive and had a very good arm.   I hope Trinity's defense can carry the day for one more game.    This year's T team seems more like a Coach Dennis Lampley team than a Bob Beatty team.

Ahh the battle of the two teams that almost everyone had already written off in early September.  It’s a good thing the season is not only 3 to 5 games long.  I’m honestly pulling for Bryan Station because a few of their coaches helped out my oldest son greatly on the football field.  However, I just think Trinity might have a bit too much for them.  Trinity fans will be rewarded for their undying faith & patience in their coaching staff (🤦‍♂️) & the freshman Zane Johnson’s development.  Zane & Trinity will win multiple 6A state titles during his career.  I do believe this game will be much closer than the first meeting.   I know Station made some unforced mistakes in the first meeting that cost them & I have faith that Coach Hawkins & company have cleaned them up.  I’ll go with Trinity 31-21.

Will be much closer than anyone expects. IMO

Have to remember that Zane Johnson is still a freshman. So will be plenty of jitters.

Excited to see it play out.

Hopefully most of them will be worked out by now - considering the Season / Games / Experience  that he has had.

Turnovers killed Station when they met Trinity in Week 1. You can't count on a rematch playing out the same way.

BS's defense will go a long way toward deciding this one, one way or the other. I'm not sure they can keep up with the Rocks if T scores 28 or more.

I'll take Trinity by two touchdowns, but would love to see the Defenders bring the 'big school' crown to Lexington for the first time since Henry Clay in..... (rubs eyes)..... 1981!?!?

Enough is enough. There's no greater opportunity than right now for Bryan Station. My heart wants this for them.

But my head still thinks Trinity wins ☘️.
