Trinity (9-3) will host McCracken County (6-6) after defeating Saint Xavier 38-14. McCracken County will travel to Trinity after defeating Henderson County 38-23.

Calpreps rating:

Trinity 52.2

McCracken County 2.7

Trinity is looking like a well oiled machine after rolling over St. X and get a 3rd round respite as an overmatched McCracken County team will make the long ride to Marshall Stadium. Can McCracken County keep it close or will this be another running clock game for the Shamrocks?

  • The polls can be set up to either reveal everyone that votes or not reveal everyone.  For BGP, I would like the default to be to reveal everyone because I think transparency cuts down on the potential

  • It was in another thread and I believe McCracken County is the only 3 seed left alive.  I say good job McCracken and enjoy the experience this week.

Running clock.

Running clock for sure.

Congratulations to McCracken County on making it this far!

Poor, poor Stangs!

I know several of the players on McCracken and I like the attitude they are taking into this game. Now don't get me wrong, I know what's most likely inevitable in this one, but they really believe they are going to come out and surprise some people.

Expect a lot of things probably not seen on game film. While it won't matter much playing the caliber of a team that Trinity is, the Mustangs aren't coming to just lay down.

That's all you can want in a team in this position. Show up and battle, even though it's probably going to get ugly in a hurry. There's something to be said about giving all you have, even when you know it's not going to be enough. I've seen teams lay down in these games many times.

I expect nothing less. I remember Trinity scrimmaging McCracken a few years back and was a great program then and keeps growing and getting better.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them move the ball a little with a few trick plays and the like. I just doubt they can stop Trinity's offense. Was just look at the Mustangs stats on line and it looks like they gave up 440 yards of offense to Barren County. Rocks roll.

Really impressed McCracken made it this far.  They were blown out by Henderson County in the regular season and stayed together and came back and beat it hem on the road by 2 TDs.  That’s impressive.

But this is another level or 2.  If it isn’t a running clock after 1Q, it will after 2Q.

But McCracken tripled their win total from last year.  Good for them. That is something to build on.

CalPreps margin of 50 looks spot on. Rocks can let any nicked up players rest, which will be advantageous in their title pursuit.

Running clock with plenty of time left in the first half. Congrats to McCracken on finishing the season strong and making it to the third round.

Trinity running clock in first quarter.

I know typically McCracken county is best known for their baseball program.  If I’m not mistaken trinity has played them a lot over the past 3-5 years..

However- has the football program ever played at Marshall stadium?

Trinity has never played McCracken in football that I am aware of. The 2017 state tournament baseball game Brandon Pfaadt pitched for Trinity against them is one of the best I have seen at the high school level! He had 12 strikeouts and gave up only 3 hits...and lost.
