Ballard vs St.Xavier Predictions
I'll believe this when I see it if the facts are as stated. Something like this would put any JCPS AD in pretty hot water with the system.

Saint Xavier/Fern Creek Scrimmage
Consider the source. Insinuating that HS kids should be called out in a negative light in a public forum is ridiculous. Also, this is not the first attempt made to infer that there is trouble in Tigerland at the QB spot. Anyone that truly knows anything about St. X football knows that Ben is our QB and we're glad to have him there. As RP said, Ben is a gamer & he will be fine. I know for a fact that Ben has been meeting the staff's expectations in practice-I heard it straight from Coach Wags mouth just 4 nights ago. In addition, right behind Ben is a very capable Matt Brutscher who is a Junior-not a Soph. Apparently these views were formed while watching the Frosh scrimmage on the diamond-"from out in left field". :fire:

I always envisioned you as much more of a "Marge" than a "Homer"-j/k:lol:

Trinity vs. Cincinnati St. X ranked #1 in nation
I had to read it twice to make sure what I just read was accurate. This can of worms should be fun to sit back and watch being opened.

Trinity Fans:
Would that be Tony Lanham or was he a couple years later? Oops sorry, I was apparently a bit late.

Trinity Green/White Scrimmage
 Since Graham is moving across the street from my son at UK as of this weekend-that is going to be a heck of a commute to/from practice in St. Matthews.

I realize it is far-fetched but IMO this would be a great game for Insight to televise. In broadcasting you want viewers for the advertisers and this would bring in a massive audience without a doubt.

6A Rankings (BGP) Discussion
Hmmmm.....X, T and H have been the only teams to win the 4A state title in the past 10 years while every year when one wins the other 2 are considered to be the two next best teams but the Rocks are the only team deserving their ranking according to recent history. Interesting.

Best High School Football player ever
I agree...and it seemed that Michael never left the field. He was a force that both Offensive & Defensive Coordinators had to worry about containing on every play.

The Other World Series Championship Team??
not 100% sure, but I seem to remember this young man focusing on Football and being a pretty good LB for PRP

Trinity's Jordan Whiting....
I have heard his name alot as a "player to watch". Did he play CSAA and if so, for which parish?

Trinity Named SI Top High School Athletic Program in the State
Yes, the Tigers were named last year but some made it out to be "not that big of a deal". I beg to differ, just as I thought last year I think it is a major big deal and kudos to THS on this honor. Hopefully, the honor comes back to Poplar Level next year, but in the meantime enjoy-it is well deserved. :thumb:

Very Sad News: The Death of LSURock
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Rock faithful, of which LSU ranks as one of the most committed. When I first joined BGP, my feathers were often ruffled by some of his comments, but as time went on I grew to truly appreciate his sense of humor and fact based statements. During the (what now seems as minor bumps in the road) brief down period of T football in recent years, LSU firmly maintained his support of the program and coaching staff when alot of others were full of doubt and criticism. I admired his loyalty and after a few PM's appreciated many of his points of view. Candy coating was not LSU's specialty, and I for one, found that as a very positive personality trait along with the fact that he would be the first to stand corrected when presented with proven facts. I think THS, BGP and HS football in general has lost a good one. God Bless.

Do you boo players or the coaching staffs
this is very similar to my thoughts other than I NEVER think the HS player should be chastised verbally by anyone other than their own coach. I cannot stand seeing adults verbally criticizing HS kids regardless of what transpired-they should have to answer to their coach and any reputable one will deal with it appropriately. A playoff game the Tigers were involved in a few years back immediately came to my mind where a particular player REPEATEDLY was flagged for cheap shotting/dirty play and obviously his coach was condoning it because he did not remove the player from the game. The game was completely out of reach on the scoreboard and I felt the coach should have been ejected/boo'd/tar & feathered etc. I know I would have liked to have had a few choice moments alone with him after the game to show my displeasure. Fortunately, the coach has left the state-unfortunately, he apparently is still coaching kids in another.

Where are they now
Zach is a Junior for the Panthers and the smoothest shortstop I have seen at the HS level from these parts. Hasn't grown much (probably 5'6") but he plays alot bigger and has plenty of pop in his bat. I believe Peanut, the VS All star 2nd basemen is on the team too as well as Wes Walden.

Ballard 12 Trinity 8 7th Region
who hit the bomb? was it Deatheridge?
-
Ballard 4 St. X 3
He is a very good player, but IMO the best in the city is Cox of PRP. I played at the Ridge many moons ago and have seen plenty of Super players between their baselines. Again IMO, Cox is one of the best to ever wear the Red and Black.

Ballard 4 St. X 3
Tough loss for the Tigers, but congrats on a great season under Coach Jefferson. Good luck to Brian Erie and Damon McCormick at the next level-they will be sorely missed but the Tigers should be strong again next year. I thought they had Deatheridge over a barrel mid-game, but he definitely settled down and turned it on. Furthermore, his bat did most of the damage as well-Solid ballplayer.

St. X 4 Eastern 3
Big win for the Tigers against a tough Eastern squad. Keep it rolling against the Bruins.:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: I hope to make it to the game.

What's got into CAL?
maybe the former St. X Tiger and former Cardinal coaching them? J/K. He can't get all the credit for their success, but I think Bill's baseball experience and competitive drive brings alot to the table for the kids to learn from. Personally, I think it is great to see the Centurions prospering and predict that in the years ahead they will be very competitive in most athletics. The resources are in place to build upon IMO. Congrats to Coach Gray and his team:thumb:

On the losing side:D

X and T fans only:
For the most part, the Rocks are my second favorite program to root for, especially when they are playing out of state competition.

2007 St. Xavier
I agree, especially at FB. I heard he has grown quite a bit in the past year-can anyone confirm his current size?
-
2007 St. Xavier
This is news to me, but I am a bit "out of the loop" these days. Brutscher can play and he never seems to get too rattled, but I think the success of this squad should start around Ben being the QB. If he gets fully comfortable in his role and continues to improve his reads under the tutoring of Coach Wags, I think his talent and the Tigers success could be unlimited. There won't be many out there with Ben's size, strength, speed and athletic ability. Looking forward to being a fulltime fan again in 2007 since I am about over the pouting period of my son's HS career being over in 2005:D .
